The Film SHOULD Not Have Cut Out So many Parts. "The Hurricane" the "Russian Agents Onboard" The "Romantic Subplot between Dirk And Dana". The Book is Far Better But the Movie Did get The Finding Mineral Part And The Government Plot Right At Least LOL ad The Raising Of The Ship was Awesome As Well As Alec Guiness Playing A Survivor.

So It Had its Good Points, And I Still Love It LOL Despite The Setbacks

in 6:16 the ship looks extremely huge and not at all like a model wich is 16m long..

I've heard it might've been cut due to budget reasons. The filmmakers never got around to film the cut scenes featuring the actors. Another reason I heard was they wanted the model to the "Santa Rosa" (the ship used as the Titanic for the deck scenes). Though one mystery that has yet to be solved is how the creators Voyagers got a hold of the of the deleted footage and if it is still around.

Book was great, movbie not so much. I had lots of issues with the "wreck" model having so much "wrong" with her compared to what the ship looked like. Good vid though TM.
