I don't think Gackt can speak Cantonese (the language mostly spoken in Hong Kong). Everyone says Chinese, but there are two dialects. Mandarin and Cantonese and so far I've only heard him sing and speak Mandarin.

There are more than 2 Chinese dialects.....Mandarin is the main language while Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka and Teochew are some of the Chinese dialects. Mandarin and Cantonese are just very common since the former is spoken in China itself while the later is mostly in Hong Kong?

@SilentStalkerX Cantonese is common overseas.  There are other dialects too, I admit that. Cantonese has terms Mandarin people don't have, unless it was adapted by Taiwan. For example: I don't know in Mandarin is "wo bu zhi dao" : Cantonese is "Ngoh buht jee dou" : but in everyday Cantonese it's "Ngoh mm jee".

I am from HK. I am not good at Mandarin. However I still can know what Gackt was talking about, with all the words! He speaks very very clear!

Moreover, "一dd" is Cantonese!!!That words he speaks in the initial. the meaning of it is "a little bit".

So, I think he also know Cantonese, which is different from Mandarin.
