Well...I think your wrong..no more importation of of parrots since 1992. Most people buy their birds from people that breed them here. U have to remember that Europe & other countries can still import them but not the US. The pet stores only can sell captive bred parrots. If they get caught with an illegal bird(s) there in for a big fine. I think u need to check where u r getting your info from.

I have a D/Y Amazon that's over 70 years old. They can live over 100+ years with proper care. Why do some of u say it doesn't look good, or is sad? If we don't breed them in captivity they will die out in the wild! Their habitat is being destroyed now. I've had parrots for 65 years of my life & can't imagine not having them in my life. My children grew up with them to & learned a lot from them.

@lorolover If people didn't take them from the wild and didn't destroy their habitat, they wouldn't be endangered in the first place. The parrots people but from the shops are wild-cut anyway, and as long as there's a demand for such pets, they will be caught in the wild. It's like saying cows should be bred in farms because they would die in the wild.
