@ocpowerlifters Thanks - yes I do - I mainly do USPF and some APA comps, but most of the comps are within USPF. I live in MA so I usually stay local, but would love to and will travel
Big Pimpin... You are the man dawg fo real. can't nobody bench it like you. Shirts ain't shit. Shit I could bench 900 if somebody was helpin enough... You bring that shit proper! Keep it that way. Don't forget it was Big James everybody was talkin about at the nationals kidd.
Yeah that's true.. I did not even think about it. It does seem like more andm ore people are doing over 800lbs with a shirt on as they get tighter and tighter! Someone like Jeremy Hoornstra who does 675lbs with no shirt is amazing and I want to be up in that category. But definitely no shirt man! I would rather come in third place to someone who did 600lbs with a shirt versus myself who may have done 585lbs with no shirt. I would probably get a lot more respect.
Thanks man! My next goal is to get 600lbs raw! I just can't see myself wearing a shirt right now or even ever. Maybe I'll suck it up and wear one, but right now, I'm doing a great job benching raw so why change ya know!!!
Thanks I appreciate it! Yeah with those long arms, it does not help at all. But I am aiming for 600lbs raw, by the end of the summer, so we'll see what happens! Thanks again!
To tell you the honest truth, I firmly believe having strong triceps is one of the most important keys when having long arms, and especially just increasing your bench. When I train in the gym I usually do not go all the way up and by doing that I focus more on the chest. On a separate day I'll do all triceps (close-grip - heavy, skull crushers,). I believe there is a lot more emphasis on the triceps when having long arms versus the chest. With the best!
@Ludichris8531 It may be late but thanks - lol

Sort your head out. Surely that was a fail. Your head got higher than James Brown on new years eve.

Hey James what advice would you give to a lifter with long arms when it comes to training bench? I suck at it big time
