I agree on finding an alternative for using the pumpkins as food so they aren't completely wasted if possible--good suggestions.

Each one of us can personally help the less fortunate by volunteering or donating food, plenty of opportunities coming up for that with Thanksgiving approaching and one person does make a difference.

I have to agree with you. It is a shame Martha couldn't use the meats from these pumpkins to make pies for the homeless etc... and underpriveledged who couldn't afford it. Even Pumpkin soup would be heartwarming and fill the empty stomach's of those who need food.

I can't imagine carving that many pumpkins. That's a lot of time and hard work. And having to continue to recarve pumpkins to replace the wilting ones. Amazing!
