  • hi Donnie! Can I use the acrylic glazing putty (single stage hence no hardener) to fill pinholes and any imperfections over urethane hi- build primer? I'm anxious that it'll react each other.

  • @roldancbu I think that putty was designed for the lacquer primers. I am not sure how well it works over urethane. I will have to do a little checking on that question.

  • Dude, don't be so insecure about yourself, jus' let it out!

  • @CaseyMcLaughalot Never heard that one before...lol

  • Hi Donnie - If you just have small rock chip holes you need to fill, can you sand the area and then put the glaze right on top of it, skipping the body filler step? something so small I wouldnt even think needs body filler. Would your answer change if it was a plastic bumper versus a metal panel?

  • @Amopower If you are not sanding to metal, putty would work best. Body filler does not have to be used on small repairs. For example, a small hail dent, just sand with 180 grit, clean, apply putty and sand. If the chip is down to the metal, it may be better to feather edge it out to assure any rust is removed. If not, scuff the spot with 180 and apply putty. If the chip is to the raw plastic, you may need to apply adhesion promoter to help provide adhesion. There is also a flex putty.

  • @ButlerCollision thanks, I am trying to envision how this all becomes leveled out with the existing factory paint. Let's say that the car has about 5 mils outside that repair area, consisting of its original CC/BC and primers. The center of that repair area is "0" mils because its down to bare metal. Is the glazing putty (after sanding) actually raising that 0 mils back up to the 5 mil to be level with the surrounding good paint? If so, then wouldnt you have a "high" once you prime the center?

  • @Amopower f you sand the chip down to metal by feather edging, you will not need to apply putty. Just prime and block. Is this what you are asking? Thanks, Donnie

  • @ButlerCollision No I am talking about a repair area similar to the video, where you have something like a 6"x6" area down to metal...just wondered if the putty would raise that area back up to the other paint level, and then if so, wouldnt the primer raise that area higher than the surrounding paint? (or perhaps it does in reality but the naked eye really cant tell the difference)

  • hey around 2:30 he mixed putty and something? what kinda stuff did he use? would you tell me! i have a putty but that isnt like a cream... how do i do and which one should i buy?

  • @2010sasaki This is a two part putty. The cream hardener comes with it when you buy it. The putty you have may not be two part, which does not take hardener.

  • Dude, you can repair my car any day.

You lay that glaze on like a pro.

Fine craftsmanship and you are a great teacher.

  • good job Paco

  • what type of this glazing spot putty i use bondo but not good like that please give me the name of this glaz the man who use it right now please

  • @robotmotor I think we used metal glaze made by Evercoat in this video.

  • u dont really need to use metal glaze, just use a lil bit more bondo the first or 2nd time and sand in between with different grits, make sure u have enough bondo to finish it with 150 or 180, i hardly use that much! i try to use only on top of the scratch or pinhole instead of the whole area and feather edge by hand and get top Results

  • Do you guys ever use Dolphin Glaze or U Pol top Stop?

  • @megaman2000 Yes, we have used U Pol, but not familiar with Dolphin. Do you like using Dolphin Glaze?

  • "Hey Hector have you seen the keys to the silver Focus"

"They were in the door when I worked on it last, I have'nt seen them"

  • ive used it a couple times but only because my collision repair teacher told me to, but i want to know WHEN you use putty glaze. is it everytime you use bondo or just on certain jobs.

  • I just use it when I have pinholes or slightly low areas if i dont have any of them showing i just go straight to primer hope that answers your question

  • @86camaromike i think the same too! You dont necessarily have to use all that metalglaze if your bondo work is all ready good right? plus your surfacer itll help you cover scratches make it straighter and loose the edge when block sanding

  • @rocker0912 glaze is just for small dings, gouges, pinholes, ect. u can also use it ontop of primer and paint unlike filler which has to b bare metal. jus dont use glaze on larger areas. also, if u r doing a car that needs to be as perfect as possible throw a coat of glaze over ur filler when ur done and sand it jus to make sure its is as close to perfect as u can get

  • This is an awesome video and is actually going to help me finish a project for Halloween on time. Much appreciation to you guys.

  • awesome, i never knew if i needed to use this putty, i even didnt knew if it existed.

I do case mods and it will help me a lot

  • great video. youre a good person.

Thanks for taking the keys out of that door

they were fuckin with my brain.

  • What type of Glazing putty do you use?

  • We were using Metal glaze by Evercoat that day, but we've been using 3M's new filler/glaze system.

  • Thanks Bro Tips Where Awesome Helped Alot Make Some more Vidoes !
