Guys everyone sounds bad at the beginning well at least for these girls here cuz to tell they truth tegan and Sara r awesome live and made awesome music in the beginning to so idk and I don't like any other cover or the original!

This is good, I like it. They give their own swagger to it. However, they're fans of the Cyndi Lauper version, by their own admission. God help them if they heard Prince's version. They'd go blind it's so funky.

actually, I'm a huge prince fan, and love prince's original best. But I also love Cyndi Lauper's...it has a sleek feel. This is, by comparison, inferior and amateurish next to either of them. They obliterate the nice nuances of the song. And this is a lo-fi rock fan speaking.

I actually think that prince did it the best since they were the orriginal. Then Tegan and Sara and Then Cyndi Lauper.

Just listen to Tegan and Sara's recorded version and maybe you'll change your mind.

I like Prince as an artist better than Cyndi lauper actually, I just like her version of this song better. I don't believe that just because someone sang something first it is better than every other version that comes after it, it all depends on the actual music.

As for Tegan and Sara, to put it bluntly, they aren't even close to being in Prince's and Cyndi Lauper's league. It would be very difficult for them to perform a version of any song better than either of those two artists.

The only reason why you don't like it is becuase they have a totally different style of music than Cyndi Lauper or prince. I personally think that Cyndi Lauper didn't do better than prince. And I also think That for being 23 when they recorded this, and not being as popular as they are now, the did a really good job. I still think they did a good job!

Huh? Prince and Lauper are two completely different styles, Prince is Funk, and Lauper is Punk-Pop, so i don't discriminate on the basis of style. It's just that it's silly to compare these two amateurish kids to two industry legends. I get the sense that the ONLY reason you even say that Prince's version is better is because you have some belief that the first version must automatically be best, and if Prince had done the second version you would say that these girls did it better lol.
