You play so beautifully - would you mind if i sampled a few of your string plucks for a track Im making? - its a hebrew loop based urban instrumental... ill be sure to give you all the credit for anything i can use
I love this sound! A lot of people think David played a miniature harp, and while this instrument does have some harp-like qualities to the notes, it's definitely not a harp. I'd love to hear the lyre incorporated into the soundtrack of an animated movie one of these days.
My apologies; I only learnt this version by ear from just one recording I have heard...which presumably is not the "definitive" version of this song which you may know yourself. Do you know anywhere I could get the sheet music, or anyone who sings the "definitive" version?
In 1976,Suzanne Haik-Vantoura deciphered the ORIGINAL,3000 year old, complete melodies of the Psalms of the Hebrew Bible,to which the sound of this Kinnor Lyre once accompanied! She accomplished this feat,by discovering that the "Te Amim" accents attached to the Hebrew text actually represented hand gestures, denoting both pitch & ornamentaion! These AMAZING melodies, can now be heard on Youtube - see Rakkav's fantastic Youtube channel!!

Yes it DOES sound like the mayim, but listen closely =)
Also, you have to realize that it's played on a completely different instrument, so it sounds a bit different too. With more musical scales and all..

@Klezfiddle1 Yet it sounds divine, like a melody King David would have played. Bravo!
