Hey- all of you IDIOT ASSHOLE COPS who think you're somehow entitled to qualified immunity are in for a RUDE awakening. Just about EVERYBODY has some sort of recording device these days and you idiots who step outside the bounds of doing your jobs properly are FUCKED when the video gets sent to the media. You douchebags who think you can just beat the shit out of someone because you have a fucking badge will get prosecuted and fucked in the ass. Remember- you'll NEVER know when you're on tape.
The Moral to this story is everyone needs to become electronically equipped... We're in an era where judges, DA's, police officers knowingly falsley prosecute defendants... So much for prayer in schools

We are supposed to teach our kids that if you are trouble find a police officer to help you. When I hear stories like this and when police beat people to death I don't know if that is a wise idea anymore.
After what happened with Rodney King, they should be scared of what people could potentially get on them if they are recorded. This is BS though. How is it okay for police officers to video tape or record conversation (without a warrant)but it's not okay for civilians?
@stefers08 , they are public servants, just like if a Politician says something stupid in public that will be held against him/her. If a Police officer is in public and does something illegal and or crazy they should be held accountable. It is OUR TAX DOLLARS at work paying them to protect US. If they break that public trust, it should be seen, reported and made held accountable. Please don't back up this savage us vs them attitude we find so prevalent in the Police forces today, it's dangerous.
damn... i thought eavesdroping was something outside of your own conversation??? lol no offence but USA is one fucked up country... no offence inteded lol since there are allot of other fucked up countries which are just as ridiculous.
its pisses me off that everytime a cop gets in trouble, the police department point finger at the one who busted the cop! that is a bullshit law that i refuse to follow. If the police can record you from there dashcam and radio, then why shouldnt you be able to do the same? if i ever catch a cop doing something wrong, i wont hesitate for a second to record it! then ill post it on youtube so everyone can see it. by the time i got arrested for it, half the nation will have seen it & sided with me
This is what liberals want their whole philosophy is "power to the govt" instead of "power to the people".Liberals think the government can solve everything and have the duty to interfere in private matters.Chicago is the only place in the country were it is illegal to carry a weapon to defend yourself meanwhile the cops are being armed with assault rifles "to level the playing field" in Chicago you are also a criminal and a felon if you record a cop.
She should have bowed her head to Our Masters. Now she will spend 15 years working as an indentured servant in one of those private prisons. This will teach her to remain in her place with all the other sheep.
In the jury's opinion the actions of the police officers at least border on criminal. Also if a police officer consciously does something to stall an investigation that can be considered against the law in certain states.
The results of this obviously frivolous case against this woman actually hint to potential criminal prosecution of at least the 2 police officers trying to make a felony out of nothing. The jury made there decision on August 25th I believe.
how is it eavesdropping when the police are talking to her? It's not like she snuck up behind them and started recording a conversation between two police officers...
If you look up "Tiawanda Moore and eavesdropping" on line it looks like the woman is out of hot water as far as the charges are concerned. Apparently the jury hearing the case took about 1 hr to decide to throw the charges out.
It appears the jurers agreed the whole case was frivilous. On top of that the jurors thought the police were insensitive, intimidating, and consciously stalling an investigation.
The kangaroo court messed up just as badly as the police here. Did the lady justice statue in the room peek out her blindfold for a second and notice "oh it's the police"?
@village1diot and to think that Sharia law might be implemented here in the so called "greatest country on Earth"?! As far as spying on cops goes, I think it shouldn't be a crime since they commit more crimes than every mafia organization combined!
What I don't get is, would she got arrested for publicly recording? No, so why is it acceptable for the police to record us secretly? Double standard...
I hope this is isolated and that these laws does not exist. If it does, your country has despotic laws and is run as a military dictatorship. You cannot arrest someone for secretly taping government officials and claim democracy. These officials should not have anything to hide while on the job. While working you represent the state, and thus the poeple. You do not have any rights above the people.
@GnosticAtheist Actually you can claim democracy, since democracy is just the will of 51% of the rest. If the 51% of the people actively want that to be the law, it's precisely democratic.
@crazypants88 Did 51% of the people vote this law into place? Or was it put there by public officials who can do things without 99% of the people knowing what the hell is going on?
@GnosticAtheist oh they're real alright, take a spin around YT and you can find them. What i find tragically absurd is that if you look at videos where cops interact with someone recording them who works for the media (who have the right to film them), they instantly chill out, change tone, walk away etc. regardless how mundane an incident is. however when cops interact with civilians recording them, who could just as easily publish video these days, they become beligerent, agressive, etc.
@maxdecphoenix there are very few cases of the opposite happening, i.e. most recent i can remember is the cops beating on that guy in new orleans then went after the press guy or a cop being corteous while filmed by a civilian, but now that they're saying 40-50 year old wiretapping laws designed for phonesystem usuage suddenly has the scope to include digital devices on the street, it's getting to be a civil liberties issue.
@maxdecphoenix actually in Toronto the cops have now started beating down reporters for major news agencies too when the story is when they don't want covered. They will break arms over it. They have.
@ytgv3fc7 you know it's funny that in all these so called "civilized" cities where this occurs, a few years back in a Bay St. Louis (smallish town in Mississippi near where i live) the mayor actually ordered the local police to stop using tazers after like three lawsuits were brought against the city/police. after some research, it was realized that per capita, this smallish town had the highest usage of tazers by a police force in the nation.
@maxdecphoenix i just find it absurd that while these 'progressive' cities/regions are pulling this wiretapping bullshit out of their ass, that some no-name mayor, of some podunk town, in, of all places, mississippi is actually trying to curtail police authority. Don't get me wrong, Miss. still sucks dick, but it's just one of those double-take moments for me.
@maxdecphoenix Tasers are a torture weapon that should only be in the hands of the most skilled officers with no record ever of violent abuse of any civilian, OR, we should all be allowed to carry fire-arms no matter what.
Don't worry she'll get off in the end. The police are just being bullies. A guy had the same thing happen to him when he posted his arrest on youtube caught on his helmet cam. BTW this has little to do with the USA as a country. It's just some bullies in a yankee state using socialist laws to their advantage.
BTW I listen to the cops on my police scanner which is legal (check my videos). Some agencies are encrypting general transmissions which is BS.
Law enforcement ... America's largest organized crime syndicate. We need a complete revamping of our law enforcement agencies at all levels ... nation wide. These thugs are out of control ... and we need to purge the system of the majority of law enforcement personnel and begin anew.
You have the right to record anything for your own documentation. If they charge you, arrest you, or even threaten you, you have the right to take them out. They retaliate you get a GI, and they get to play enforncer and exicutioner.
I live in a large growing marijuana state it is common knowledge amongst the people in this state that city and County police departments delivers marijuana and other drugs in their mark police cars in this state and to other states. they never get pulled over. But they will arrest their competition and put them in jail at the same time they are delivered in selling drugs. So if you're on a jury don't send some poor man or woman to jail all you are doing is helping the larger drug dealers
As an educated citizen of the United States, I can confidently say that exposure to people from different cultures has helped me learn a lot about my own. The general population in any country does not have that opportunity, and ours just happens to be a very poewrful one. The sad part of our existence is our Machiavellian politics and war-mongering culture. Not all Americans are ignorant of this situation, but none here have the power to stop it.
@rock3tcat That's the most ignorant comment I have ever seen on YouTube. You're a bad representative to wherever you live, just like the cops in the video. You obviously didn't watch it. If you did, you completely missed the point and just made a clown out of yourself. You should be banned from commenting until you grow up a little.
Yanks are so afraid of a couple of muslims hiding in a desert thousands of miles away they have not noticed that their precious rights and feedoms are beeing taken away bit by bit in the name of security.
Fear has always been the best way to control the mindless masses.
@FloydIV you common sense fail. Common sense dictates that the person doing the illegal activity would be prosecuted, not the person who reported the crime. If you mean the jury did not consist entirely of idiots, that's not common sense either, it just means the system finally worked... once.
I remember a story where a police commissioner tried to bring in legislation that would prevent civilians from taking an officer to court, whether guilty or not guilty. Claiming it was a waste of time and money that would otherwise end without either sides gain. Well that claim was denied and proven frivolous. But the more I see stories like this, the more I think that maybe that legislation had always existed.
The eavesdropping law that the police are abusing was intended to govern wiretapping telephone conversations. This kind of invented cop law rubbish needs to be blown out of the water in a high enough court to prevent its further abuse in several states.
Since when are the police "public officials" anyway? They're not governors, they don't pass laws or write legislation. It shouldn't apply to them, period.
@XGP15A3 - They are public officials. But the law should not exist. Period. We have every right to record and transmit all our interactions with all public officials. This is a fundamental foundation of any free society. Once you've eliminated the ability of the public to keep a close eye on their officials, you've destroyed one of the vital supports on which the liberty of the people rests.
I was hitching a ride when I was 17, to go to work. The guy who picked me up was pulled over a short time later, and the truth was unfortunately not believed, and this detective asshole threatened to put heroin in my pocket and frame me. The shit was he showed me and it scared the fuck out of me. I record everything.
You ass sucks who love them will learn one day. The hard way.
@DarkFantasyvids sadly enough, the online version of the Chicago Tribune article that reported this story has a ton of comments with people defending the cops, saying that she just made up everything (even the initial dispute with her boyfriend) and is manipulating the justice system just to get taxpayer money. it's really disturbing that people can be so prejudiced that they can ignore evidence and make up their own to match their own reality.
there's no way that this will hold up in court. after it gets thrown out, she can sue the department, city, and perhaps the state for harassment, damages, lost income, emotional distress, etc. no lawyer would pass up this payday.
of course, i'm all for just shooting the cops in the head, too. A.C.A.B.!
@FumingPoliticalPunk Why have a society based on bias, agenda based ideology? I say we need to do away with all the ideological bullshit and use the scientific method to determine the most logical course of action. You can do it the conservative way, the liberal way, the libertarian way, or instead just do whatever works, ideology aside.
I think you should reply to every positive comment towards George Carlin with this. It actually makes you seem more intelligent my belittling the views of other people and the people that they respect.
Especially when then acting in a condescending fashion and stating that "it doesn't make you look more intelligent." Obviously inferring your own greater level of intellect.
@Sneezlebob I wasn't trying to look intelligent. I'm not so insecure that I need to ride the intelligence of others to boost my own ego. I just thought it was a good quote. That's all. People on youtube read way too much into things.
@JayTheCommentator : No, I'm saying that I don't think the human race wants to change and that we are going to kill ourselves in a surprisingly short amount of time by our lack of empathy with each other.
Land of Hypocrisy. It's becoming a police state where they are all above the law. They can execute any one they want. Commit any crime they want. But everyone else is a terrorist. America is beyond screwed up.
I would not step foot in America anymore, pure Evil insanity, how can you Yankes sleep at night, your country is falling apart all around you, all the military in the world will not protect you from yourselves!
@derberg19486 You are correct. But I hope you don't think that there aren't any Americans that are trying to put an end to this. Not all of us are brainwashed idiots. Just most of us.
@derberg19486 Only if after naturalization Canada doesn't tax me for 10 years while IRS taxes taxes a former citizen for those 10 years. Even after you leave here your still US taxable for some time.
Unfortunately this country will never be whole as long as we stand divided. Folks on the right side will never have that. They are too busy hating homosexuals, blacks, Mexicans, Muslims, etc.
Perhaps one day my conservative countrymen will stop trying to tear us apart and we can move forward.
Not while they're still watching Fox "News" though.
@derberg19486 Ha, thats actually the opposite of whats true. The fact that in America we have SOOO many stories of the injustices that are occurring on a daily basis, should show you how we are still on the right track. Our country is not perfect, very far from it, but we openly embrace, acknowledge, and work toward correcting these social outrages in order to make ourselves better. In fact if your country does not have similar stories it should be a warning sign for you.
I laugh my ass off when I hear about cops getting shot. That's the only good thing about black people in my opinion. They are the only ones capping pigs like they deserve.
Well...it goes like this--there'll be an "internal investigation", you see... Which means they throw the evidence away, and give the cops "paid leave"(vacation). When a little time has passed and the media moves on to something else, everyone goes back to work.
It's as if nothing ever happened.
Same old story 99% of the time--they RARELY prosecute cops---even for killing innocent people and their pets.
What I don´t get is: In America, a handful of amateurish clowns from the Tea Party can stall the entire political process, and cause the U.S. to get downrated for the first time in it´s ENTIRE HISTORY - but when something like THIS happens, the public goes like: "Uh huh, this is interesting. But then again - who cares." W T F??? Why isn´t anyone in that state up, saying "we don´t want to have cops like THIS work for us!"? Maybe Jack D. Ripper WAS right about water fluoridation, after all! ;-/
The Chicago Police officer who groped Tiawanda Moore Breasts and Buttock should be thrown off the Chicago police force. But at the end of the day the taxpayers of Chicago will pay for this not the Chicago Police Union or the Police officer who groped Tiawanda Moore.

COMMON SENSE WON!! WHOOO

@FloydIV you common sense fail. Common sense dictates that the person doing the illegal activity would be prosecuted, not the person who reported the crime. If you mean the jury did not consist entirely of idiots, that's not common sense either, it just means the system finally worked... once.

This law's sick
guitarshishi 6 months ago

XGP15A3 6 months ago
@XGP15A3 - They are public officials. But the law should not exist. Period. We have every right to record and transmit all our interactions with all public officials. This is a fundamental foundation of any free society. Once you've eliminated the ability of the public to keep a close eye on their officials, you've destroyed one of the vital supports on which the liberty of the people rests.

It is very hard to sleep sometimes.
ViciousRanger 6 months ago
@derberg19486 Ha, thats actually the opposite of whats true. The fact that in America we have SOOO many stories of the injustices that are occurring on a daily basis, should show you how we are still on the right track. Our country is not perfect, very far from it, but we openly embrace, acknowledge, and work toward correcting these social outrages in order to make ourselves better. In fact if your country does not have similar stories it should be a warning sign for you.

She was rightfully acquitted, so what happened to the cops that committed the actual crime?
TheUSMetalhead 6 months ago
@TheUSMetalhead

Ripper WAS right about water fluoridation, after all! ;-/
