It makes me think of how in Tibetan Buddhism it is often mentioned that one of the reasons why all beings are held in high regard beyond the fact that all life is valued, is because they could have been your mother ina past life. They could have been many other people of course but it seems that in Tibetan culture mothers are highy highly venerated.
