This is pretty cool, I didn't know about this alternate take on the song. Although this does sound great and should have made it on Ceremony, I think that "The Witch" remains a wicked song after all these years. It's an absolute warhorse of their live shows.

naaah...it kinda has a bit of a distant echo of it, but not really...I'm just glad they got together with Rubin to work this tune out, as the final track "The Witch" is a masterpiece, total Cult classic...but this version is interesting, though...

One wonders what would have happened if Rick Rubin had produced Ceremony and NOT that other fop. The Cult need to work with Rubin again for an album... Steve Brown as well.  Just for fucks sake. Cheers.
