I mean, the whole reason it collapsed is because it filled up with water and the loose ground holding the terrain up collapsed into the hollow below after being saturated, so there's not going to be anything interesting down there save whatever has fallen in.

Never this hole has caused by a storm or @phillystar318 a huge bomb...but something is false. Why I think so? I can tell you a story for reflection from Germany: Our media coverage -2007 as well as 2010- are showing the same pictures from the (same) sinkhole in Guatemala! Why the press is lying? BTW, in Texas you find two of this things (first 1980/second 2002); in China (not so large), too. There are more than one or two around the whole world...distributed...even in the ocean.

I can not deny that they are very similar, and in fact, happened very close to each other, but I say again, both events are real and different from each other.

The cause of the holes is that the heavy rains made collapsing the storm drains beneath the streets of Guatemala City. Currently both holes are filled

If you say they are verry similar, at least I understand the danger of confusion. But few and far between they even used the same text for the landslip in 2007 and 2010, too. So mostly we've seen sidewise pictures from the holes. Now I see your last photo and wonder about the perfect geometry like a channel, the border looks cut, overall plane like a wall

Actually it's very intereasting but I just want to be sure of this HOLE! It's scary that these kind of thing happens. I was there and saw it! its very deep! I took a camera and tied it to a rope and drop as far as I can in the hole. I notice about 100 feet or so u can see some kind of prehistoric skeleton BIG, not sure what it is but its big. Also lots of small ancient blocks or some kind of old (very old) structures parts along the side of the hole. its scary!

Was the result of a collector of sewage succumbed to the rains from tropical storm Agatha, and when the collector collapse, it formed the hole.
