@LordZneb Dude, MANY, MANY artists and rappers sample old beats from all sorts of genres. You'd be amazed at the amount that have done it. It's not just him. Like for example, idk if you'd figure it out but listen to Between the Sheets by The Isley Brothers. Three popular songs (and probably mroe that idk about) sampled that one song. Sampling is a BIG paty of hip-hop. Its a way of keeping the soul of older music with the youth of today's. It's a way to bridge the gap.

For goodness sakes people. I'm so tired of people saying that Lupe "stole" that instrumental from Modest Mouse. HE DID NOT STEAL IT. He approached Modest Mouse and politely ASKED for their promission to use that part of the song "Float On" that was used. Modest Mouse even gets some of the money that "The Show Goes On" makes. It was leagally binding and was NOT stolen.
