yep the nose is there for 2 reasons. 1st so high speed impacts will only deform roll cage and not hurt the tracks. 2nd chase is right the nose slides over a wall allowing for a nose up pitch while the tracks start to dig in.. Rippy MS1 the mil spec version climbs i beleive about a 58" dirt vertical wall....  those who fourwheel know this is retarded... even for a tracked vehicle. M1A is about 42" with a much longer chassis..... utube search "ripsaw ms1" for those videos

Or, it could give the tracks a little boost when climbing obstacles. I could help lift the tracks up to slightly higher obstacles so they can transfer their force from the ground to the wall, etc
