  • here is his link wwwdotasimodotcomdotau

  • he sounds like a japanese tv show. im walking to the table. im walking briskly. im giving a paper to mr long last name. im about to attack pikachu

  • I'm sure at least one dude in the audience is thinking: "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I just wanna know if I can upgrade it's firmware to get it to jerk me off!'

  • I have a weird urge to kick it in the head.

  • asimo really has to go to the toilet

  • amazing... by 2090 i bet humans will be thought all this by Asimos.. and robots will be standing around watching humans doing weired things... ;)

  • SUGOIIII

  • The lights under his "belly" are infrared lights for navigation?

  • First the mai room.

    Then the assitant.

    Then it's running the company!!

  • yet we laugh at this infant robot, but in some decades/centuries we will be ruled by robots and machines...

  • It 's only a matter of time. We'll all be exterminated...

  • It walks like I do when I accidentally crap my pants.

    But still, amazing technology.

  • Very Good,,,,,,Incredible

  • amazing o.O

  • a real robot dancer :D really love it

  • It has no vocal cords as of yet, but it does have a few people to speak as its voice.

  • hum its not working fully alone i mean see those block things on the floor i think it are kind of megnetical things to let it know wich are its boundaries or are im wrong?

some some more vids its really amazing how it identifys objects.

  • @nielsb5 that's the floors' pattern, i think. i've seen it do it on any floor. it's not what you'd expect from a 2010 civilization huh

  • well he does really have super sonic sensors and laser cameras to detect where he is, i read once a while ago that asimo actually makes a virtual map of his surroundings

  • The reason that autonomous robots would never win a war is because they don't tire slowly, like humans, they just run out of battery, and die, not able to fix themselves. Humans tire quickly, but make a comeback quickly, which, in my eyes, is more effective.

  • you guys have to get real lol there is no way to make a robot have a mind of it's own unless it's something more like our own brain

  • 7:32 imagin if it made a mistake and kicked a baby or something ;D id laugh my ass off

  • i hope one day in the future they build asimos that look like arnold schwarzeneggar. were all DOOOOOOOOMED. lol

  • They should use this technology for mars mession it would be cool.

  • I think they are planning on doing that in 2015 to the moon. mars? a tad harder

  • the female voice it's ASIMO's voice?

  • Amazing!

  • real robot dance!

  • they've improved asimo, especially his dance moves, he's not so stiff anymore

  • um wow its technology. its a humanoid meaning human like be proud that the ppl making this technology will prob make something that will save your life one day. god wont cure your illness modern medicine will.

  • Emotion is basicly the only thing that humanity may never get... But I figure they'll be able to do everything else...

  • It's great. But it still walks as if it sneaking so I guess there is still a LOT of room for improvement. But it is still impressive creation. It can balance on it's own.

  • why do people insist that robots need to move exactly like humans do? +_+

If it works better this way, it's sufficient. exact human imitation is a luxury. human movement isn't necessarily optimal.

  • @hekussu I agree with you, it is a very impressive little robot but building it to replicate human movements also allows for all our human faults.

  • imagine Asimo 2030.. 2040 maybe.. It will be able to react to anything, and have an own understanding.

  • D: this was done on my birthday, and i heard nothing of it...

    oh well.

    ASIMO's making some great strides.

There's videos of it learning new objects (it's on a harness and the shiny face plate is removed. It keeps reaching for things being presented) It's really cute to watch.

  • yeah its learning like a baby...one that can talk...

  • Robots won't take over... Whoever thinks that must be physically and mentally weak! Maybe at greeat numbers... But how could they out number the human race? It's impossible unless we program them to think as well as learn.

  • What do you think they are trying to do ? :P At the speed that robotic evolve I would not be surprised to so robot like Bicentennial Man be available on the market in 15-20 years.

  • I agree! That is very true! Have you heard about the Asimo that is supposed to be shown sometime next year? It's is said to be even more advanced then this model!!!

  • really? where did u get that source?

  • I cant remember the article I read it in... There isn't a set date yet for the next presentation they will do, I'm assuming they will show it at a 2010 convention of some sort

  • Why so people hate Japanese? They create amazing innovative creation such as this! I Love Japan, and will be visiting by the end of the year!!!

  • @AiRJaYzGo nobody hates japanese...you're invented that.......almost all the world admire then after 2 atomic bombs they 're now the greatest nation in electronic devices and engineers

  • @CarlosRex19 Dude your grammer sucks so I had a dificult time understanding your comment. By the looks of it you seem to be just plain ignorant you are unaware of the past conversation that has been in effect for almost 10 months like seriously get up to date and please learn to read as well as comprehend what one is saying, remember reading is fundamental! Ugh anyways the truth is saying Why do people hate Japan was not a personal opinion. It was simply a statement made against someone else...

  • @CarlosRex19 By the way I am mixed with Japanese you idiot so why would I bash any race let alone one of my own! Think about it dude its fucking illogical! You're attacking me when I'm not the enemy... I on the same side as you open up your fucking eyes! LMAO

  • @CarlosRex19 Oops I meant I'm* Stupid Iphone 4's correction thingy lol

  • es un robot po , no una mujer...

  • ¿QUE? ¿No barre, No lava, no plancha?

  • simply the most amazing invention by humans...an artificial, autonomous...thing. 0_0 Japan is so awesome, other countries like the "great" United States are years behind this. awesome

  • Its not autonomous , it is controlled via a wireless laptop/pc.

  • a new version of asimo will be presented in 2010, but i do not know the exact date.

  • really?

  • Does anybody knows when a new asimo version will be released. this one is old already.

  • still amazing..are they going to put new things inside the Asimo or do they make a new one identical?

  • The new one is different without the face plate type in Asimo artificial intelligence, he is actually learning now to distinguish different connections by himself.

  • will he look as cute in camoflash with an m16 in his hands? what was he built for? hardly the robot dance

  • no it would not be cute but it would be kick ass! i would make my asimos fight each other to teh death!

  • Now when I dance "The Robot", I do this dance.

    I love Asimo :)

  • never give robots the directive

    try to survive

it could backfire if they ever learn to work and produce for real

just like us we also are not aware of all the environment we destroy while we still

    depend on it

  • Hahaha i like the end when you can tell a nerd has programmed its dance routine

  • hahaha silly we already have robots for war. They just dont look like humans is all

  • then asimo falls down stairs in a failed attempt to move on his own

  • it's just funny everytime anyone makes fun of that no matter what it always makes me lol

  • if ASIMO had a GUN, it kill stupid ppl like you....!

  • it a nice toy

  • it is cool

  • I wonder if someone is controlling it

  • there is an operator at the back. What asimo sees in the AI brain and eyes are transferred to the operator. Asimo is still basic level of robotics, an operator is a must.

  • Well, the host keeps telling the the audience that asimo is autonomous...Do you think he is lying to them?

  • xtcongo autonomous depends on what he is implying. If he is directing at asimo's movement and senses then yes its autonomous. The operator at the back just monitors asimo's movement. It has happened before that asimo has a failure climbing up the steps and tripping. Simply the operator is just there to keep tabs.

On other sense, asimo is autonomous. Asimo uses sensors and manuvers by himself. The instructions are already given to asimo. So it is autonomous.

  • he's partially autonomous he can bring you stuff by itself but for that show it was mostly a controller in the back

  • bringing food is pre-programmed. They probably capture the motions of a human with a suit than transfer the programming to a robot.

  • This robot is fully autonomous and it's fully programed. Sensers are used to guide it's fluid movements.

  • yea but asimo really does have impressive programming that lets him be very autonomous lol like it can actually recognize voice commands and move from one point to another while avoiding obstacles by itself

  • so do I. That would be great if no one controll Asimo.

  • it will be the end of us all. if the robot learns how to landscape i am screwed

  • evil if robot learns its not end of humans. Computer only listen to humans and it cannot think by itself. They can learn but cannot think. Computers lack emotions, in order to replace humans, robots needs to understand human emotions.

  • What happen if you give it a gun? lol

  • i was on a technology trip with my school

and Honda came to the convention and showed use Asimo and the past generations of there Robots

  • ive went to see im just a few days ago it was amazing

  • camina como un japones

  • So how long till the price of these things drops, and they become common place servants in the real world?

(And assuming that, by that time, they'll have made even more advanced programming, and work-out plenty of bugs.)

  • If I had an Asimo I'd teach it to C-walk and fetch me a .40oz. Maybe even learn the stanky leg...

  • if i had an asimo robot i would be so scared i would cry like a 3 year old

  • tell me i robot was just a damn movie and nothing else!

  • ASIMO FUCKS all american ppl...! hhaaa

  • hahah, cool robot!

  • HOLY SHIT!!! that was like a man o_O but that was really smartest all known robot in the world!!

  • The best one is on James May show. Asimo learning and shit.

  • Asimo lost weight!! Smaller backpack!!!

  • Does it recognize human emotions? Whether through tone of voice or bodily motions?

  • If not, it will soon!!

  • I think asimo is kind of cute...

  • That's the idea, anything larger or more adult-like is intimidating on average.

  • That's made in Bielefeld, am I right?

  • asimo is cool but if it was more advanced like the sony qrio robot it would be awesome even though the qrio robot is discontinued, which kinda sucks cause it was an awesome little robot

  • This model was released in 2005. The one before that was 2000. Soooo.....the next model in 2010?

  • so no progress in more than two years..

  • there is progress. this is simpley a old model

  • but no progress in what they are showing. and how do you know there is progress?

  • one word: internet
