  • Oh dear that was funny!! I know how you felt my first jumpin lesson ended wit me on the floor too!! Lol

  • I can jump lol and i ride dressage

  • I love that video. PRICELESS.

I also love how everyone's commenting saying stuff like "I'm a dressage rider, and I can jump, stop lying" and all this, when actually... It was only a joke? Chill the hell out?

  • I do dressage, and i DONT jump :P

  • lol! i'm a dressage rider and i tired to jump my horse as well....kinda went just like yours xD i hope your okay after the fall!!

  • I clearly ride dressage AND jump...

  • @Noricima there isnt anything different between them...i was taught to ride in scotland, and then moved back to my home(kentucky) and they said i had a perfect jumping position...

  • i think she was just joking about the dressage riders cant jump as at the end she clearing states they can!

i think PURE dressage riders dont general like jumping, and PURE showjumpers dont like dressage.

eventers are all rounders but their dressage isnt to the same level, nor is their jumping as the pure's but they hold their own on the XC cus that takes balls of steel!!! they are brilliant riders in their own right!

  • then how do you explain eventing...

  • awesome video!!!! lmao

@ the fact that ur making dressage riders seem like complete retards

    (no offence)

  • she must prefer dressage over jumping:)

  • Thats funny..because 3-day eventing they do jumping dressage and cross country..I wouldnt go around to them saying that they dont know how to jump..maybe your just a bad rider..

  • LMAO "and fall off" *horse prances by*

  • This is very true, I am a dressage rider and i cannot jump! I am a bit afraid because of some bad things happening when i jumped ( LOL) But I totally Looooovveeeee dressage! and for only riding dressage on horses for 2 years I am doing pretty good! (i did 2nd level with my welsh pony when i was 6, I now ride the big Warmbloods! just go to my channel and watch the vid of me riding!)

  • I am going to sub you :) I like humour and like it even better when it totally goes over peoples heads- makes it even funnier! Great video, why are people getting so wound up. I'm a typical trail rider but i'm alright jumping. No particular style, I just keep my hands soft, try and stay off the back and not interfere & it works whether i'm riding in Italy, Abu Dhabi or Australia >shrug<

  • it made me laugh when your horse trotted past the camera without you!

Im a Dressage rider and I cant jump haha, it scares me!

good job though, its good that you try and vary your horses work :)

  • lmfaooo that was cute your horse bounces ! <3

  • It doesn't matter what your nationality is, the best way to help dressage riders get a good jump is to remind them to do a couple of things. Try not to jump in a dressage saddle, which can hinder your balance and ALWAYS, BEFORE YOU JUMP, take your stirrup leathers up one or two holes. This will help you remain deep in your heels making your body act like a shock absorber. These are the common errors of Dressage riders who jump. Your position was good. I love this horse and it's a cool video!

  • Well there isn’t just one European style, but several, generally the European styles concentrates around bring riders center of balance as close as possible to the horses (rider close, nearly flat over the horses neck). The Americans centers around the rider in perfect balance over the horse (the rider off the horses neck).

  • @TiranoCEC Hi, just read your comment about the difference between european and american style. I don't think it's possible to go over a really high jump (6 feet and up) without comming close to the neck of the horse

  • That was so cute when the horse went back by without his rider. Probably telling himself- "I didn't do it! Rider down!" Hope they were ok!

  • haha. funny. we can jump though!

  • It made me laugh :)

  • lawl same thing nearly happened to me xD

i'm riding dressage for 10 years, and once i wanted to try jumping. i was riding on a huge horse and it was jumping so high over a really small oxer xD

i'm glad it had a neck and mane to hold on to lol

  • AHAHAHAHAHA that is awesome. Love how you dont see the fall, just the horse prancing away I couldn't help but laugh.

  • Im a dressage rider and a cross country rider and a show jumping rider, and i do good in all three so dressage riders can jump

  • well your not really a dressage rider, your better rounden riding a bit of everything. At that time I hadn't jumped for sevral years ;)

  • @Ahorseychick an eventer:)

  • How did you all teach the horse to go away with his tail up like in the movie Spirit?

I LOVE when she freefalls off it looks like it would be funny but it's even more halrious when the horse goes through with his head up in the air! You all can jump really high! I have been riding for 8 years and haven't learned how to jump yet mainly I ride gaited horses like RMH,Morgan, & Saddlebred.

  • Very funny! :D

Holy crap your a good jumper. 0.o

  • thanks :)

  • I jumped for 4 years and now I'm doing training level dressage :)

  • And Jumpers can't do dressage =)

  • lawl. just cos you dont fall off doesn't mean you're good at it! I would cry if someone caught with jumping in that position showed at the end of the video.

  • I take it your American :) Im European, we jump with different techniques ;) its a little harder, for me, to jump with the American technique when the height exceeds a meter

  • Uhh, actually, I'm Australian. Our technique is a mixture of both american + European styles. And actually, doesn't matter where you live. Everyone, regardless of nationality, has their own distinct technique and style. you just have to work on yours.

  • As mentioned above, Im a dressage ride and my jumping technique is fine for me, its doesnt hinder the horse and Im in balance. Lol any way I jump once a week if not less, its not high on my priority list

  • @TiranoCEC Don't listen to them! I think your position is fine.... your not showing in it, you're doing for fun. So as long as you aren't hurting your horse (which you're not) why on earth would it matter? Haters are gonna hate. Keep riding the way you are :) you're good.

  • i love the part where the horse trotted away and yeah i think your right in many cases riders who ride dressage all the time don't jump as good as rider who are trained in jumping but still if you practice a little it works

  • I ride dressage and I can jump!!!

  • so can this dresage rider!!! come on people watch the video til the end and you see pictures of us jumping 130cm without falling off

  • @TiranoCEC I believe you can ride both well ^_^ Fall-offs can happen to anyone, even Isabell Werth (when riding what she calls dressage *cough*)

  • I think your humour was lost on many people. That or most of the people who didnt get it suddenly forgot how to read and view images after the fall. :D Liked it when the horse went trotting past, clearly pleased with itself lol.

  • @Madnessisgreat lol thanks, nice to know that my humour isn't lost on every one :)

  • It's just a joke. I don't know why ya'll are getting all flustered over it.

  • this is being kind of rude, it may offend many Dressage riders.

  • try watching after the rolling text, and ofcause dressage riders can jump, the vidoe is only there for laughs

  • okkk............. whatever

  • Thats Bull Sh*t !!

Im Irelands top Junior Dressage Rider 2009 and I CAN jump!! at least us Dressage Riders Can Ride Proparly and we av RESPECT for our Horses!!

  • And your point is? At your age I was listed as the younger dressage rider with the most points gained in a year, 3ed year running. I was listed in the FEI until I had to retire due to injury. Lets see some proof shall we? Im willing to dig up paperwork and take photos of prizes Ive gotten over the years, if you will.

  • hilarious expecialy wen the writing said and fall off nd the horse went trotting past :L

  • dressage riders can jump! stop making fun of them you childish retard~

  • Please watch the video to the end and you see we can jump, I ride PSG dressage and the horse jumping should hopefully be ready for medium A dressage classes here in spring, so I am a what you can call a dressage ride. So if Im making fun of any1 its with myself, if your unable to understand that please reframe from commenting.

  • my friend does dressage im starting and it has improved her jump seat

  • hahahahahahahahahahahaha thats funny.... my horse and i do dressage and jump :)

  • lol i was almost offended!!! i ride dressage... and damn can my horse ever jump, we actually do pretty well. lol

  • sum of them can!

  • so can I :) try keep watching after the rolling text ;)

  • lmao cute

  • this made my day xD!

  • LOL that was so funny when the horse trotted past in the background!!! hahaha!!!

i think you should change the name to dressage riders can jump. or can dressage riders jump maybe.

  • oh, btw everyone watch the horse in the background when they jump and the rider falls off screen. then carry on watching them and you'll notice they come closer to see if it happens again. xD

  • The first skit was such a pisstake, i couldnt stop laughing when you can hear the rider fall and the horse trots off. Great vid; and greatd jumping at the end! wish i was as good as that... :)

  • i laughed so much that i had tears running down my face!!

    i love it!

    it made my day....

it was a nice jump you cleared to!

  • omg love it!

  • So you show a minor league rider in a back field falling off a horse that doesn't know how to jump properly, and this is supposed to prove...what?

I'm glad everyone is having a good laugh. I thought it was funny too. Imagine anyone thinking this made a point of any kind. Hilarious.

  • Minor league? I ride club and national dressage shows and I have been ranked in the FEI. Riding in the field? We wore remodelling lol our new area was under construction. As for the drums, Im a dressage rider, I dont keep jumps. Watch the end of the video, and youll see Im more than capable of clearing a jump, I was a military rider in my younger years. By the way video's here just for laughs not to prove anything. Be careful about belittling people in videos, they might bit back ;)

  • Its meant to be a satirical video.

  • lol i ride in fields all the time, and i fall off too, and am i minor league?

  • Lol, great vid!

  • :D this video made my day...

  • glad to here that ^^

  • haha that is soo funny

  • I love how the horse just prances away! Major laughs.

  • i`m a dressage amazone and i can jump!

  • lol i'm glad u know they actually can jump :)

  • smilles ofcause they can

  • AND JUMPERS CAN'T DO DRESSAGE! You think it's so easy. Sorry doll, it isn't. We just make it look that way.

  • i can do dressage........and jumping.......

  • I would agree parcally, alot of show jumping rided don't vaue the dressage, but some do and it's most often those that jump the higher classes.

  • true. this. woot! i hate it when ppl say dressage is 'boring' or 'dumb' or 'easy'....ha!!! come ride with my trainer and you will see how freaking hard it is

  • Comment removed

  • i know! i get so angry with people! theres a big difference between the intro stuff they barley can do and the prix st georges stuff we can do!

  • AND JUMPERS CANT DO DRESSAGE! You think it's so easy but sorry, doll.

  • ever heard of 3 day eventing??? they have to be dressage riders that can jump they do dressage showjumping and crosscountry...

  • Erm if they are doing 3 day eventing, they are called milltary rider ;) and well I guess I'm cheeting a little with saying I'm a dressage rider as I´ve riden up to elementry milltary/3-day-eventing in my younger years. But at the time the video was taken I had only riden dressage for seavral years.

  • @GottoRide222 thank-you!!!!

  • Omg Seriously Dressage is the basis of ALL riding! Without proper flatwork or proper dressage, you can't jump. Jumping is basically a dressage test with jumps in it!!!! A dressage rider can jump!!!!

  • Lol try watching to the end after the rolling text and you'll see this dressage rider, jumping over 130cm. I wouldn't be able to do that without basic flatwork. You might also consider reading some of the other comments as you'll notic your not the first to say this.

  • O I Know im not :) The only reson the first jump wasn't good was because she didn't get her distance... no biggie distances come with practice... and falling off, heck I fell off last fri cuz i screwed my distance I got back on REMEMBERED MY DRESSAGE WORK and did it perfectly! (It was about 3' with a sharp left turn 2 strides after the fence)

  • Well asholly the horse is a he and has jumped competevely at Mb-Ma (135-145cm) for 4 years. So the distance part ussally not a problem, it´s kinda like show him the jump and hang on, the practice part is done. He just made such a huge jump, it unseated me. I jump him regally now and I never have to hold him back to get the distance right, unless we are jumping over the 150cm, he does everything himself.

  • I am a showjumper but we can do dressage :P

    Love the video, lmao

  • haha the dog!

  • :((( i feel bad becuase i do the same exact thing!!

  • lmfao this was really funny(: and btw imma dressage rider and i can jump better than most of the jumpers at my barn. (im 13 there 15)

  • smilles good for you, I kan jump too, I just don't (photo of us jumping at the end of the video after the creats ;)

  • lol! lov it! I AM A DRESSAGE RIDER AND IM PROUD 2 SAY I CAN JUMP!! most of us can do it! =)) .lol!

  • I am a dressage rider too and lol I can jump too, watch the end of the video ;)

  • lol! yea! i didi! ohh.. did i sound affencive! lol! i didnt mean 2! lol! good vid! i dont like ppl who say its just "advanced groundwork! " lol! =))

  • ahaha

  • luv it

  • haha XD

  • rofl.

    amazing.

  • HAHAHAHA this is the BEST funny horse videos ever. lmfao!!

  • hahaha omg that was awesome

  • Ha ha thats hilarious!

  • Too funny

  • At first I was kind of annoyed, since I do dressage and showjumping (not eventing, though) but this video is hilarious!

  • This is just too funny! I'm a dressage rider and no, I can't jump.

  • hahahaha!! Very funny!! YES, we can jump!

  • i like when the horse trots off like nothing happened

  • wow. lol. very funny! hahah. I am so gonna make one of them! lol. post it as a respose. hahahaha

  • That was HILARIOUS!!!

  • nice video your mount sounded very excited though

  • haha thats cool :) i love how it pauses and then a horse trots away alone :P

    xxx

  • lol thats cute. i hope both horse and rider r ok! also, my ottb jude does dressage and he jumps :)

  • lol

  • see this is where im lucky... i have a beautiful dressage horse who i ride only for dressage and then i have a jumper who is amazing and then i have my favorite mare who i can do anything with...i consider myself extremely lucky to have three horses!!!

  • hehe and he does a perfect cadenced trot afterwards

  • ooh....i was kinda mad when i saw the title but then i realised u said they could!

    LOL

  • yes, we can jump!:D haha too cute!

  • Mannn you needed to move them camera over some so you can see the fall but that was sooooo funny!!! xPP

Haha I can jump but i cant do dressage because i am used to not having to be amazingly perfect with every move. xPP

  • you don´t have to be amacingly perfect in dressage, you just need just need semless control over the horse lol.

  • Haha well my horse can would rather jump then be controlled. Haha she kinda.....well....ummm.....welllll.....she likes being crazy. xPP

  • well as long as your both relativly safe and having fun, who cares if the the horse seems a little crazy lol

  • Haha the other day we did follow the leader dressage and my trainer would do the pattern perfectly then i am behind with my horse flinging her head and getting the wrong leads. xPP Haha but yeah. haha

  • I love how you can hear a groan/sigh from I'm guessing the rider? at 0:20... and you see the horse trotting off. Too funny! GREAT video!!!

  • thanks :)

  • Haha its funny.

But some Dressage riders can Jump.

    Like, I do eventing.

And I do lot of dressage shows to like I do level 1 and I normally get around 66% lol

But it was a great Vid!

  • Comment removed

  • yes dressage is important, try watching the video til after the rolling text, the jumps are over 130cm in the pictures and we don't have problems getting over them :)

  • this is interesting!!! but i ride dressage and live to jump!!

  • LOL Best video ever. I love the dog prancing around as well.

  • Yeah I know the feeling, lol I get horrible nerve before I attempt a jump lol, Id rather do without. Staying on the flat is the way to go ^^

  • lol i cant jump and im a level 3 dressage rider

  • hahahahaha that woz an amazing video, I like how u go they jump..... then fall off, allu can see is a horse trotting by without a rider, lol that woz HILARIOUS!!! But I am a dressage rider and I can jump aswell, not very high but its jumping at least! lol

  • What a cute and funny video! I liked it!

  • thanks :)

  • umm eventing..duh.

  • erm eventing has event riders .. duh

  • My mom rode hunters for 20 years. But she switched todressage and has been competeing for 15 years.

  • im a dressage rider and i can jump....

  • and so can I lol the video is just for fun :)

  • ohhh sorry i fort it was serious haha :P

is that you jumping at the end btw??

    if it is woah! lol

    x

  • lol np, and thanks ^^

  • thts sooo not true.. dressage riders can jump... as far as you know, the best show jumper in the world could also be a dressage rider.. i hate it wen people think tht kind of things!

  • Well try and watch the video til after the rolling text and youll see I can jump pretty well too. Yes the best show jumpers in the world have to ride some sort of dressage or they would be out of control, but it doesnt make them dressage riders and finally, wheres your sense of humour, its supposed to be funny, its not an expression of my point of view.

  • funny but i do dressage and show jumping so i think they can

  • Well congrates you not a dressage rider then but a well rounded rider that can do a bit of everything :)

  • yeah but i do now a dressage rider that can jump,

  • and so can i lol watch the video til after the rolling text ;)

  • o i get this now, lol now i feel stupid!

  • lol ^^

  • uh people if you think dressage riders can't jump, what do eventers do?

  • they ride eventing, lol they are event riders, they ride dressage, cross country and show jumping lol

  • dressage riders can jump that was the horse's falt it jumped over that jump awequadly so yer they can jump

  • watch the video til after the text and you can see that both the horse and I can jump

  • Pehaps you should practice.

  • Practice jumping? As the title states Im a dressage rider, so I dont practice jumping, I only jump once in a while to give the horses something else than dressage and hacking. If you watch the film til after the rolling text you can see pictures of the same horse over 130cm and 140 so we can jump without falling off. I just dont have any interest in jumping.

  • Think what you want dressage is the foundation of all equine disciplines. Dressafe riders warm up there horses so there soft and supple before jumping them reducing the risk of injury. Dressage riders also practice such things like sitting there trot and can maneuver there horses smoothly taking less time to complete a course.

  • Sorry a little lost in translation, I am a dressage rider, and yes I can do sitting trot and the horse Im riding Ive trained to do the lateral moments, pirouette, flying changes on 2s so I would say hes pretty supple, the only problem is, is that hes an old show jumper and got really exited to see a jump and well I fell off lol.

  • xD xD xD xD

I LOVE when your horse trots out in front of the camera!!!!!!! lollllllll

  • LMAO!

  • hahah as soon as you fall off the horses in the back put their heads up XD

  • Well Im not surprised, its not a common occurrence, in fact its the only time Svante(the horse) has ever managed to get me out of the saddle, Im usually glued on, even when he bucks.

  • lol!

  • haha i laughed when he trotted away looking quite pleased with himself xD

  • Oh boy...been there done that.

  • Im a dressage rider, and I also jump big tracks :)

  • haha....cool video :)

  • im a dressage rider. and i also jump. jumping my dressage horse is really interesting. lol. but i also ride at a hunter barn and am pretty good. my horse will jjump it fine if i hit his shoulder.or else he will run right into it. he also has stiffleprobles. that was funny thouhg

  • hehehe to funny

  • lol when you falll all the horses in the background heads come up!
