@ezzzzzzL No, it's not. The song has a jazzy sounding intro, I'll admit to that much, but the rest of the song is pure pop. I hate to break this down to you, but a big part of the music JC makes are either popped up jazz songs or jazzed up pop songs. It's not that it sounds bad, but I don't view it to be as creative as many might think.

@Rattenhoofd I don't think we share the same view on the definition of a popsong. Pop is related to artists like Katy Perry, Keisha, Lady Gaga and the shitstorm continues... Compared to music like that, this is as jazzy as i can get, and is so far away from the popgenre as anything can be. David Hatch and Stephen Millward define pop music as "a body of music which is distinguishable from popular, jazz and folk musics"

@ezzzzzzL. What you say is true, and JC is indeed more jazzy than I would like to admit. The jazzy versions of pop songs are actually well-made most of the time. I still think he should stick to that though. Classic jazz songs like If I ruled the world should in my opinion be treated carefully, and I really don't like wat JC did to it.

@Rattenhoofd It's a reply on the whole debate wether it's jazz or pop... what's important is ' does it have a soul or not?' does it make you think, feel something, does this music adds something great to your life. Pop/ rock. Jazz or funk.. it is secondary.

@TAD761 Secondary, but still important to me. I can answer all your questions with 'no' and be done with the debate, but a musician's style says a lot about his music and him as a musician. Too many people go like 'OMG JC is like the best jazz pianist and singer ever and sooo underrated' and they feel like pro musicians for liking 'obscure' jazz music and that pisses me off. JC takes a jazz song, changes barely nothing except taking out all the jazz, leaving just pop.

As a musician I appreciate this cover of the song... but it does no justice to the rich content of the original. This is what the younger people are listening to and that just how it is. It very sparse musically but very good for what it is. Overall I give it an A.
