The Hawks were a bit unlucky in both 1986 and here in 1987. In the NBL Semi-final series both times they ran into the eventual champions. Adelaide in 86 and Brisbane here.

But then again, if they were good enough the Hawks would have won wouldn't they.....

I love the 1987 footage! THANK YOU! I was at this game, 6 rows (Door 4 Row F) behind the Bullets bench & you can see me jump up when everyone thought the Bullets won. I was so cocky, thought we already had that GF spot booked & then Gordie shot that basket!!!! I can still see the Illawarra supporters sitting around the Door 13 area!

Great coaching Kerley! It also strikes me that the league featured much younger players than it does now. The NBL has really become a veterans league these days.
