  • It would be pretty awesome to see someone fit modern components into that system.

  • wow i have this same laptop, but how can i get a AC adapter for it?i have the battery pack, but not a adapter.what do i do

  • IIRC, this laptop was shown in Magnum (the tv series) a couple times (magnum writing some texts on it in the back yard)..

  • You can just get a serial mouse.

  • Thanksfor this I found one in a dump and use helped me out understand wtf it is

  • very ugly laptop

  • are you kidding? that's one sexy ass laptop. more sexy than macbook air imao

  • great laptop. compared to the overblown computers nowadays.

  • I've the exact same computer. The CMOS battery is dead on it aswell.

  • So why you just don't open your machine up and replace the battery?

  • cool to see !

  • The date only goes up to 2007? I think it's well past time someone did a hack for this machine. :)

  • in 1989 I was in 6th grade and my teacher had a Zenith Laptop, he was all proud of it

  • I own an HP Vectra LS/12, which is really a Zenith Supersport 286E manufactured for HP. It has a 21mb HD that is very finicky due to age (sometimes it does not want to spin-up during a cold boot). Growing up, I used a Zenith Supersport (XT class) laptop that my neighbor traded me for an old XT desktop I had. I used it to dial-up to BBS's and such. My current HP does have the 2400bps modem.

  • After some research, I realized the LS/12 is a Supersport 286 and not 286E. The difference between the two is the 286E (like yours) has a VGA 640x480 LCD/video adapter, whereas the LS/12 and base 286 models have a CGA "double-scanned" 640x400 LCD (it supports 320x200 and 640x200 res CGA modes, but double-scans the vertical pixels to display them on the 400 available on the LCD panel).

  • i want one to

  • me too

  • I want one.

  • do u know where i could find a keyboard driver for windows 3.11??

  • I'm not sure. I'm looking for some mouse drivers myself, but my system's runing Windows 3.0. I know it's not much help, but my best advice would be to check google and ask around in forums that focus on vintage computers.

  • vintage

  • That is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Just wondering what year was it released? I have a cool Toshiba Tecra 720cdt laptop from 1996 which runs windows 95 that weighs like 10 pounds and runs great. I even added the 128 mb edo dim!!!!

  • It's was released in 1990 from what I've read, a year after the previous 286.

  • @gamemaster14neo woa there i used to have one of those nice computer though

  • My first Laptop was one of those! I remember it being really sleek and hi tech at the time. Pretty much the Macbook Air of its era! I am amazed you still have one that works and even runs off battery! When I had one all I ran on it was DOS, Lotus 123, Wordstar and Larry and the Lounge suit Lizards! Windows was not really used that much in those times hence the lack of a touchpad or mouse.

  • lol. that must be quite old. but the older something is the better the story it has to go with it....i think.....
