Though the third season was scored by Billy may, some of Riddle's music from he previous two seasons was tracked in the thirds season. Neal Hefti was to have scored the series, but his commitment to scoring "Duel At Diablo" prevented him from scoring the series, and only composed the main title (enter Nelson Riddle),
@alphacontrol, he actually composed the feature film that led to the series. "The Od Couple" theme, ironically, has its origins in the track "Mother Gotham" from the "Hefti In Gotham City" album, which features the organ riff he work rework for the theme.
This was the best 3rd season fight theme I think! Gets you excited! This is also one of my favorite episodes. All outdoor scenes & stock footage of a downtown city were in L.A.
@Jazzy9964 Yes, I agree. LOVE this score, but it was from the third season and scored by Billy May, not Neil Hefti. Billy May provided the brilliant theme to The Green Hornet the previous season. Can only theorize that Hefti's asking price by Batman season three collided with the rapidly dropping ratings and budget, so May was recruited to fill the void.
@alphacontrol I did not know that.. thanks for the info. WHOA!! when you said Billy May I was thinking the Robot from Lost in Space.. ha ha ha but of course that was Bob May
I loved the fight scenes from the show. But I loved the "cutaway" fight balloons better than the ones they superimposed over the footage; that's why I like this scene so much.
The superimposed "Zaps!!!" and "Biffs!!!" were much more expensive that just doing a cutaway to a title card. By the third seasons they couldn't even afford walls on most of the interior sets.
Initially, yes it was. But as the series went on, the ratings declined (and the budget was cut accordingly). For year three they were only on once per week (scaled back from twice per week).
So this is what people learn to enjoy violence...oh my dog...
But seriously...there is nothing more satisfying than seeing the words appear on the screen. I also like how Batman has the shorts on outside the Batman costume. It's just timeless. If there's another Christian Bale movie I wanna see the sound effects(I'm kidding but nevertheless)
To other observers: TMNT = "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Cowabunga was also an early favorite expression of Bart when "The Simpsons" first premiered.

@vividwatch47 Interesting. Neal Hefti wrote them for The Odd Couple TV series as well.

Barbara Gordon - Yvonne Craig - looked great,
but I'd still liked to have seen her in a bikini.
*sigh*

Torrance Beach was the filming location. I have been there many times, including the era of when this was filmed.

GOD DAMN.....the woman who played Bat Girl would give Halle Berry a big time run for her money in that bikini suit.

@Krazy3912 Yvonne Craig is so fine in that suit meow.

Yvonne does look good in that swimsuit. I heard that the bow was placed on her cleavage it was showing too much for the censors' own good.

Music for the third season was by the great Billy May. And doesn't Yvonne look great in her plunging one-piece?

I have Joel Eisner's book on the TV series. The show as a whole was one of the most expensive of the day to produce.
