Too bad they didn't use poison...I could see someone drinking the water with a bit of dirt...but sin is more like poison.
A little confusion though (possibly?)...once Yah'shua has become your righteousness your sins (ALL) are covered. An unsaved person is the one who needs to know that no matter how "good" they are ~ their smallest sin has condemned them ~ unless they repent toward YHWH and believe in Yah'shua for salvation.
Maybe they could have used a "slimy green" substance, as well. I guess they decided to use dirt, since it was an onstage sketch, and since dirt is generally easy to find near by and free.
Christians are no better than sinners. We are just justified by faith, and the grace of God. But, most of us still struggle with sin in some way, and are influenced by what we willingly see or hear.
We watch worldly movies, and drink of the evil images and sayings within them. And, they become instilled into our minds, and even rise up again...when something causes the brain to remember it.
One drop of poison in water, is still poison; as one drop of sin, is a poison to the mind and heart of a person.

I agree sister, sin is much worse than dirt.
It is a slow poison, that leads to death.

But, the main point is that sin and it's
branches, should NOT be connected within a
sinner, or even a Christian's life or mind.

If a man or woman continues to look at things like pornography, murder, foolishness, and crude humor, etc..
Then his/her mind will remain defiled with dirt and filth. And, it will influence his or her actions and beliefs.
We basically tempt ourselves, when we allow tempting things into our mind. Even our own mind, temps us when it's defiled!
It's not just Satan, it's our own self. This is why I say to parents, a child's personality is shaped by what he or she observes.

poison and dirt are pretty much the same when it comes to describing sins. both poison AND dirt are like sins , they damage your life and heart.

True purity has not a spec of
dirt within it's substance.
Amazing analogy.
