You can have her SWITCH directions by looking at the black bar on the side of the video for a bit and watching in your peripheral vision. Then you can look back once it switches and it will "stay".

It depends upon whether you're looking from above or below the footline (as if looking up through a glass floor.) When standing with her on the same level, looking down, you'd see she's spinning counter-clockwise. When standing below, looking up through glass, you could see she's spinning clockwise. Took me a while to see it though. ~_X

Normally seen as counter-clockwise but if you look at 0:03 (pause the video), imagine he's looking at the back (or is he a she??? anyways) and you'll now notice he's turning clockwise!

You can make her spin clockwise, but when you do, her legs aren't working properly.

To get her to spin clockwise, I covered up her body, so that only her head was visible. Without the distraction of the rest of her body you can force yourself to see the head moving the other way. When you uncover her body it'll be turning clockwise too, but her legs are skidding around all over the place so it's not as good as the illusion with the naked woman.

It's both; either way you chose to see it. If you want to flip the image then put your cursor at the farthest point right or left of where the tip of the weapon will "hit" it. Focus on the arrow of your cursor. After a couple seconds, it will switch direction.

No, I put my mouse next to the point of the gun on both the left and the right. I tried it both times to "switch" the direction. I focused on the cursor only for a second or two, then looked right at the image for the entire rest of the time, and lo, the "direction" had changed. Or my perception of it had. You should try it. BTW there are no "details" in either figure; that it why it is possible to see it going either way.

i figured out a way how to easily help ur brain to change back and forth quickly. Look at the left corner of the screen and imagine it spinning clockwise and look at it with ur peripheral vision, then look at it and it should be spinning clockwise,

Then try looking at the corner again and picture it spinning the other way and look with ur peripheral vision again, THis time, it should be the other direction

you have left some information in the animation which gives a way the fact that its turning CCW.

first the feet are indicating CCW

(although if your viewpoint is below the surface and the soldier stands on glass it would work)

More importantly, as timofly2 points out, you forgot to eliminate perspective, the gun is a giveaway in this.

You can do this by rendering the turn with your camera set to telelens making the turn much more flat.

This animation isn't about guessing but about mind able to switch directions.

If you see just 1 direction this isn't bad but your mind refuses to adapt to other possible motion.
