  • W budynku pokazanym w 23 sekundzie filmu znajdował się kiedyś dom pogrzebowy, przez kilka lat był pustostan, a potem w latach dziewięćdziesiątych ubiegłego wieku była szkoła dla Polaków, przygotowująca do amerykańskiej matury. Pracowałem w tej szkole jako informatyk, mając klasę na ostatnim piętrze i tamże mieszkałem. Może ktoś pamięta?

  • They're going to build a huge homeless shelter here and bring ‘200 homeless men to the neighborhood! It's going to go back to being what it was before, all the progress is going to be reversed.

  • I lived like a couple hundreds yards down leonard st from the library. 579 between Norman and Nassau. My mother grew up the next block over. 4 generations of my family lived on that same block between norman and nassau. From my great granparents to my neice. over 120 years of family on leornard street. I think we must have been one of the last Irish families left in GP. I havent lived there in 16 years but it always will be my home

    I lived at 579 on the side adjacent to manhatten Ave...I was closer to nassau then norman. my granpa, brother and cousin lived in that building till my granpa passed 3 years ago. My granpas cousin Hughie Reid owns the reids funeral parlour up on greenpoint ave and loenard.

  • I used to live there. That's my library and leonard st. and manhattan av.I was 9 years old.

  • How many Greenpointers recall that the library is named for Stephen Gilroy. NYPD killed by cowards at Al and John's Sporting Goods back in 1973. His killer was just denied parole again due to real Greenpointers not forgetting. At his funeral (at St Cecilias) the largest in NYC for a NYPD, over 10,000 people. We will never forget
