God damn, that was awesome. I remember playing that game as a kid. I always thought it kicked ass. Too bad Activision didn't turn it into a long-running franchise. It would be a good rival for the Castlevania series. Even the music matches up to the quality of Castlevania's music. In fact, now that I think of it, the first time I made it to Cordova Town in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, the music and the overall feel of the whole place reminded me of the second stage in Swordmaster.
