  • Compressed air is not good enough if keyboard is in intensive use every day as this one in video. Usually there is not only dust. More often It is sticky combination of dust and other things from your fingers.

BTW, this keyboard is still in use, about 8 hours per day, since 1998.

  • Most keyboards has same configuration. Letters are always on same place.

So you can find how to put keys back. Also, you can try, and connect keyboard, and try to type. Then change key places.

  • @tehnoguru you very smart.

  • I'm afraid I mess the keys up

  • Just take a picture of the keyboard.

  • Wow this IBM keybord have a very complicated plug set upper right^^

  • Listen, dont just go and buy another keyboad. If you want to know where to put the keys back 2 just open up a image of a keyboard on your computer before you do it. And you dont need to take the screws out of the back just pry the keys out

  • you odnt need this unscrewing only take the keys of line them up in order vacuum over them clan the keys put them back on thats it

  • good video but I doubt u needed to go farther than lifting the top of the keyboard

  • lol!!! why is it nececceary to remove the keys??

  • @lolatmyage You can use a can of compressed air to get some of the dirt off. Sometimes you need to remove the keys to get all the dust out. But I doubt you'll need to take apart your entire keyboard just to clean dust.

  • ummm. yeahhhhhhh. i'll just buy a new keyboard :P

  • @lilegyptian83 lazy ass

  • oh ok thanks alot appreciate it :)

  • N/P UMM U HAVEPC RIGHT?

  • YEAH I DO

  • take a photo of them before u take the keys out

  • if you have a phone for text messaging you could look at that QWERTY keyboard

  • @mccclarren You can take a picture of the keyboard, draw a "map" of the keyboard, or when you take your keys out, set them off to the side, keeping them in order.

  • @mccclarren take picture?...

  • @mccclarren if you have a second keyboard you can look where the keys are or you take a photo with a camera or you look at the internet with your mouse and onscreen keyboard ;-)

  • @mccclarren he memorized the order i do too

  • @mccclarren Just memorize the key settings or search a keyboard.. and follow it..

  • yeah mind needs a clean...

  • boring

  • gua i lake

  • what if i have illuminated keyboard? (led that is)

  • Send it to me, and I will clean it for You, record whole procedure, and publish video. :)

Seriously, you must find method to open it and clean parts, taking care about LED's. Of course, some models are assembled on different way, so you must find way to open it, and decide how to clean parts to avoid component damage.

Without keyboard in front of me, I can give you precise instructions.

  • should i .. send you a pic , or something , for further instructions ?
