@ALTCH1nk - all of the colors Black Dogs Baits has are pretty good, but my favorites are the rainbow trout and delta shad. The bluegill works pretty good for largemouth in the summer months.
striper fishing is like the lubina fishing we do here in Spain, when the bite is on you can just about get a fish with white underwear. When they ain't biting just take a rest, they get aroung to hittin' on something. Wow does that ever look like the rio Ebro in catalonia
I called it the Sacramento Delta because it the Sacramento River runs through it, and it helps for a keyword search. Really I am in the San Joaquin Delta, down by Brentwood. Sorry for the confusion, just trying to get some good keywords it there.
GREAT VID!! My friends and I have been fishing straight for about 2 months every single day now and We still havn't caught anything yet except for bullheads. Any tips?
hey great video. I fish often, about 3-4 days a week. I mainly fish the southern delta, and the bite was insane about 3 weeks ago on anything shad looking. rip baits, rattletraps, fish traps, and all. however, i went on a trip and went back out 3 times last week without much luck. Any tips what to use this time of the year and where to go? I noticed you were fishing in the southern area of the delta, and Sherman island area, which is where i fished yesterday, with no luck.
Usually plastics fished on a darterhead or shakyhead work well that time of year. For the larger bass try jigs, or a basstrix swimbait on a 1/2 ounce head. I'd stay out on the main body and fish the 20-30 ft. range.
@nickthoj i went with my family in august area(i think) and the crappie and kokanee salmon were just great at night!! use a sliding bobber rg with a 1/32 crappie jig head with a crappie jig(mini tube)and tip it with nibblets!!night time is when ur most lkely to get them
what do you use mostly for striper and have you ever gone to Howe ave in sacramento theres a great fishing spot there ive been fishing there for 7 years and theres awsome action for striper
I hand tie them myself. First you get banana jig heads, 1/4-1 1/2 ounces. I paint the heads with white Pro-Tec powder paint. Next you tie on the bucktail. White, chartreuse, and sometimes a little red, are the only colors I use. Sometimes a little flashabo material gives it a nice finishing touch. After your hair jig is all tied up, add a 5 or 6 inch white worm tail, and your ready to fish.
nice vid dude ... i fish the same area there at the ship wreck ... check out some of my vids if u get a minute, i need 2 setup a tri pod thing for camera
man nice boat, looks like u had alot of fun, so peaceful, i watch ur video when i can't go out fishing for bass, i can so much relate to ur experience except for big break, never been there, i so much miss the detla, ur video help me scratch my fishing itch when i can't go out fishing, hope u make more video like this one...great job
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video. I'm just starting to learn about the new video editing software I just got, so the next videos to come should be even better
that's great man...I've heard that hair raisers paired with plastics work great for other guys too...the Rapala flat DTs work great for me in the delta for both stripers and largemouths...good fishin!
nice video setup! i like your other video with the black dog walkin bait...that was sick! i have 3 tournaments at clear lake this month. we'll talk haha.
yeah, I fish Victoria Canal quite a bit when I launch out of Del's marina. I accually checked it out right after I caught that striper at widow island in the video. Didn't catch anything though, the water was super clear and there was not wind that day.

If you are restricted to bank fishing, Union Point by middle river is a good spot, there is also some decent bank fishing in Victoria Canal.
