The larger dog, Legolas (my friend named her favorite Sibe after her favorite Lord of the Rings character, Strider, so I followed her lead) is an SPCA dog, Sibe/Shepard, more biddable, less inclined to jpull hard, than the Sibe. I think you can buy a bolt that fits into the bottom of your camera (where the tripod bolt does), run it through a helmet, with washer, and there you are. I first ran two dogs on a mountain bike: the trick is to teach them to run ahead, pull, keep the gangline tight.
the little one, Chassuer, is a Siberian husky, spayed female, SPCA rescue. I was at a friend's house when her friend called, SPCA had picked up two dogs trying to, ah, pirate someone's goats. No one in Sibe rescue could go get her, so I did. She's a kick butt sled dog. Funny thing, the first Sibe I had (Nikki) showed up in my yard trying to eat my goat. I swear Nikki sent Chasseur after Nikki died. Goat pirates; Chasseur is the name of a successful War of 1812 privateering vessel.
Have seen other scooter videos, though. I use a rig (3 wheeled), but the scooter looks very handy to use. I've been trying to fugure out how to do helmetcam (an old bike helmet and a drill and a bolt that fits my camera like the tripod does). Musher Aliy Zirkle has done some nice helmetcams on actual races. One of the best videos I've seen had some shots from various viewpoints: low, high, musher viewpoint, and from someone in front of the team.
@swordwhale1 it's under my uploaded videos on my channel and the title is running pitbull. It's just a kick scooter haha but it has provided a fun workout for the both of us. I use to use my bicycle until it was stolen. I saw your videos beautiful dogs are they huskies or malamutes? A helmet cam would be totally awesome, it can get a little nerve wrecking holding my camera while trying to make sure I have control over the scooter and my strong girl.
Awesome! More people should be doing THIS with their pit bulls! Keep it up! Shoot more video, spread the word. Try a sledding harness? For those of us who are skateboard impaired, a bike, scooter or rig works very well.
@swordwhale1 thank you very much and I couldn't agree with you anymore! it's difficult anyways because people only want to own those fat american bullies these days. I certainly keep my pitbull in shape and just recently finished fully conditioning her she hasn't looked any better and my hard work made it conspicuous with her results. This is a rather old video so hopefully in the spring I will film a much better video on the skateboard. Have you viewed our scooter video however?
Haha cool vid. I've tried this but fell too many times lol. I only do it with a scooter. I don't have the skateboarding skills like you. Keep up the good work and more vids! :D
