  • I remember this movie from my childhood. It scared me to death. Now I look at the Jabberwocky & laugh at how simple he was. Great movie though! :)

  • I like how the Jabberwocky walks very slow and relaxed, as if to say: I'm not gonna hurry, sooner or later you will -Ooh pretty spider!

  • Acid must've been big in the 80's. and that mad hatter looks like michael jackson.

  • just fall stupid egg .

  • Comment removed

  • Johnathan Winters is humpty dumpy.

  • Carol Channing scares me.

  • OMFG......... shes a sheep!!!

  • What nonsense - Alice was English - this has nothing to do with Lewis Carrolls brilliant original script.

  • @Corrupt5358 - I personally think that, although Alice was English, her nationality isn't essential to the story (apart from maybe her class origins, but that can be done for Americans too) and Natalie Gregory is brilliant in this movie. Better than any English Alice I've seen.

Btw I'm English so I'm not just saying all this to support America.

  • Bleh . I like the one they made in '98 more . It's a LOT more like the book(s) . && this one's just . . . . . creepy ? I'm not sure how to describe it .

  • 0:30 - I was starting to think her face would turn into something grotesque... Suddenly I'm glad it was just her voice... (shivers)

  • the chase scene with the Jabberwocky is one of the best scariest scenes

hes ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME VILLIANS!!!

    LOVE THAT MONSTER!!!

  • @battousaiblade that Jabberwocky costume PWNS all the others I've seen. You can't get much better than that. Even if it was the 80s.

Still would like to have it as a display piece and operate it occasionally just for a laugh

  • its not an egg, its a giant tumour. cut it off

  • The white women looks a bit like Michael Jackson

  • "What a beautiful butt you've got?"

  • that bitch went through some crazy shit!!!! Louis Caroll is messed up in the head.

  • RUUUUN!!!! it's godzilla!!

actually, due to copyright issues, it's not.

yeah, but we should still run like it is godzilla!

    even though it's not...

  • Thank god I didn't know what acid was in 1985 lol cause DAMN! when does Mothera come in to fight godzilla in this movie?

  • Thank god I didn't know what acid was in 1985 lol cause DAMN!

  • I find this extremely scary!!!!

  • Wow. This movie was recorded off TV for me when I was small. Its long gone now. I made Mom record over it because this movie scared me so much as a child. This is the first time Ive seen any of this movie since then. I can see now why I was so terrified back then. Thanks for the Upload!

  • Alice doesn't need to act scared around Carol Channing.

I think she's very good, but everything else is just strange...

  • BEST visual EFFECTS EVAR!

  • I just... lol'd too much

  • Then I popped up and raped her over and over and over and over again ;)

  • Smartest whit girl i ever saw....in any movie EVER!

  • Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeterrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Can someone tell me why Carol Channing turned into a goat? .-.

  • @HoshigakiKisame3290 It was actually a sheep she turned into and I know as she was saying "better" in a slow way, it sounded like she was making a "baaa" sound that sheep make so maybe she was magical somehow since she is a Queen on this movie that she turned herself into a sheep or, maybe saying "better" in a slow way was probably a magical way of saying it where that magic turned her into a sheep.

  • Oh my God it's a Turkey Vulture...

Those things really WOULD try to eat you. XD

  • this is the stupidest thing ever

  • The little girl reminds me of Shirley Temple :)

  • i watched this movie when i was like 8 years old. and it scared the hell out of me!

  • I watched this when I was a kid alot of people never even herd of it.

  • "Much beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetterrrrrr. BEEEEEEETTTTERRRR" wtf lol

  • Wow forget about Humpty, that old woman will haunt my sleep for the next year!

  • she reminds me of michael jackson lol i think this is where he got his inspiration

  • "Some eggs are very beautiful"

    XD

  • that jabberwocky is an asshole

  • o my.. so scary LoL

  • Que medo desse filme!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol... the white queen got Polymorphed...

  • humpty dumpty was an asshole, the jabberwocky should have hard boiled him.

  • Humpty Dumpty: the original poem was actually supposed to be making fun of the king viii because he was so fat.

also, i really like this version its really true to the book.

  • humpty dumpty was slang for the name of a gun in the war ;-P

  • aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!

  • jabberwocky looked way better in the new alice and wonderland

  • i want to see this movie and i like this tralier

  • the jabberwocky looks sooooooo fake

  • 1:30 - Alice whips out the Blunderbuss and yells "American McGee says Merry Christmas, motherfucker!!!"

    *BOOOM!!!*

  • @ReverendSyn ahhh I love that game =) but it takes place when Alice is in her late teens / early 20's =P not this little girl.

  • Natalie is wonderful in this movie.

  • Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Humpty Dumpty made a great fall,

and all the King's horses and all the King's man, couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

  • 6:20, lol Humpty Dumpty fell off

  • isn't alice meant to wear blue? or am I thinking of Dorothy.. :S

  • You don't need to be high to be creative.. shut up people.

  • @Dannystyle08 Thank you for saying something, its about time! haha

  • @Dannystyle08 you dont need, but that helps =)

  • @Dannystyle08 When Louis Carol wrote this book he was using "herbs".

  • @RoryVideos marijuana was one of the drugs he was using but..it was opium and a very high fever that made him dream this...the book was originally going to be about people trying to kill Napoleon when he took control over France..but he had a dream..and changed it to this.

The white rabbit is the leader of the resistance..the red queen is napoleon..and Alice is a bystander that got caught up in all of this...

  • @Dannystyle08 yes u do

  • @Dannystyle08

high not ... but on lsd ....

  • Did the white queen call alice bitch

  • is that Carol Channing!?!?!?!?!?

  • Yes, Carol Channing is playing as the Witch Queen.

  • Lewis Carroll took opium as a remedy for his epilepsy--not for fun.

Opium was used to for many medical purposes in the Victorian era.

  • Hey, it was better than taking MERCURY for syphilis!

  • jabbawocky was sickness

  • My God. The jabberwocky is made out of rubber!

  • Wonderland looks very imaginative, but I can't help feeling that it would be a terrifying place to be.

  • @SCJRFilms only if you can't handle your acid

  • @ZappsClassicMovies Sooo your saying it would be less scary while handling acid? I have my doubts on that. The weird things would be even more bizarre.

  • @ZappsClassicMovies agreed.

  • it just me or does it sound like the white queen is saying biitch

  • @Semp314 it does XD

  • @Semp314

    lol.....nice

  • I'm sure Lewis Carol was high when he wrote that book

  • @Boozbiiz He was xD

  • @Boozbiiz

He was. He smoked opium mostly. =)

  • omg that little Natalie is the double of the late Heather o rourk i can imagin Natalie saying their heeeeaaaaarrrr

  • Can't wait to see Burton's version!!!

  • what was the name of the actor who played alice?

  • Her name is Natalie Gregory.

  • hahahahaha!!! I remember this! I wasn't able to look at turkey vultures the same after watching this!

  • Who is Humpty dumbty?

  • Whenever the white queen says "Much Beeeteeer" before turning into a sheep, the viewer wonders: what the hell was that all about and why does she turn into a sheep? It may be creepy, but at least she didn't turn into anything scarier. I thought the sheep was rather cute though; especially with the crown still on top of her head. The spider is scarier than the Jabberwocky to me.

  • Maybe the white queen turned herself into a sheep using that circular necklace around her neck (maybe the circular necklace was magical) because I remember she was touching and jiggling the necklace before this video clip started where she showed her cut finger to Alice and said "see, that accounts for the bleeding." That's true that it was good that she didn't turn into anything scary but, I don't know why Alice ran away. I agree that the sheep was cute, and I agree that the spider was gross.

  • "why you look like an egg!"

  • She reminds me of the gir from Poltergeist RIP

  • @MrSean677 It's funny you should mention that. Heather O'Rourke had been selected to play Alice in this film. But due to contract haggling, it went to Natalie Gregory instead.

  • wow thats wierd

  • i thought that was the late Heather o rourk that little girl is very like her

  • Actually, Heather O'Rourke was originally chosen to play the role of Alice, but her agent's and the studios couldn't agree on some final contract issues. Heather would have loved to have played Alice. But since things didn't work out, Natalie Gregory got the part instead. Natalie wore a blond wig for the role of Alice, as she's a brunette in real life. Although I'm partial to Heather, I think Natalie did a superb job playing Alice. Natalie was born in San Diego County, California in 1975.

  • Natalie is good at Alice but i keep thinking of Heather im shure Heather would have done a great job too

  • Absolutely!

  • I agree. Natalie Gregory did a great job playing as Alice, and I remember reading here on the internet that, that's a blond wig she's wearing (I have seen a picture of her on the internet what her hair looks like without the wig). I might be wrong but, I think that head band she is wearing on her head is to hold the wig on her head. (I guess the wig was constantly falling whenever she ran around in the movie so the directors and producers made her wear the head band).

  • 2:20

    no... it could be dizzy...

  • good child actor :O

  • CAROL CHANNING?! Whose line moment...

  • well...this is in the 80's but...The bird was an epic fail but the acting was great.

  • I just saw my school's play of this last night, because my friend was Humpty Dumpty. Will someone please explain to me the dragon thing? It definitely was not in the production last night, and now I'm curious after watching this video. Did they just add it to this movie for scare, or is it a real character?

  • The Dragon thing is the Jabberwocky. It is kinda-sorta in the original. Alice reads a poem called Jabberwocky about a dragon like creature. That said in Alice never encounters the Jabberwocky in the book it was added to scare.

  • Now I kind of wish it was. It makes it much more interesting. Thanks for answering my question.

  • its the jabberwocky, its on the through the looking glass book

  • @Visceralex an egg tht talks

  • Natalie Gregory is Alice, does anyone know where I can see any recent pics of her for 2009/2010? I tried Google and nothing!

  • @mondocaneman Nope. Natalie got out of the biz decades ago. She's married and goes by the name of Natalie Mitchell. She lives in Utah.

  • BEEETTERR.

  • Whenever I saw the white queen(carol channing), I instantly knew the sheep part was coming up and became unnerved. Even when I covered my eyes as a kid I still heard BE-tet-eereer and hated that it was almost as if I was seeing the scene through my hands that were supposed to be covering my eyes. Jaberwok or white queen, this kids movie has some scary parts.

  • I think it looks like the love child of Angelina Jolie and an oompa loompa

  • that woman looks like angelina jolie will in about 15 years...

  • is the egg johnathan winters

  • bird fail!!!!

  • Never mind the Jabberwock or the Giant Bird, Carol Channing is so creepy in this scene (shivers). CREEPY

  • I used to think that same shit when I was little. That creeped me out way more than any other part of this fuckin movie.

  • 6:20 - hilarious sound effect.

  • She's trippin' balls dude...

  • Not everything has religious meaning behind it. This is just a story of a girl. Nothing more nothing less. There is already plenty of stories of jesus and god.

  • 2:40

    that's a STUPID name.

the one thing that got me to laugh today

  • someone should upload all the parts of "through the looking glass" of this version. the first part (alice in Wonderland) is on here in full, but the second part has only bits.

  • Is there anything better then a studio made forrest???... no, I do not think so.

  • At 0:25, the look on her face is like WTF???

  • Couldn't put Humpty in his place again! Is the original script, the more this story if modified the more it sux.

Also this really doesn't work with American actors that can't speak like they are English.

    **

  • why must alice have different dress colors??

  • I'm more afraid of the spiderweb than the Jabberwocky...eww

  • after I saw this movie when I was five I had a dream that the Jabberwocky was in my closet...and I saw him there. I stood in the middle of my room crying, and my mum had to come and get me...

  • Bite your tongue, Lewis Carroll was an amazing author

  • An amazing author perhaps....but he was certainly abnormal.

  • you say abnormal as if normal exists...

  • No it doesn't in the abstract, but within the constructs of society it does. Let's just say he was...special. Especially when he took pics of little girls. Hahaha

  • AHAHAH this biotch used to scare the crap outta me.

    WAY more than the jabberwocky!

    ps--

does anyone know where i can get the full movie?

  • this can never be done with american accents

    NEVER

  • true that. im american. but still, this cant be done. it really cant be done out of cartoon form.

  • what's scary about this scene?

The white queen turning into a sheep? or the giant vulture?

  • so fucking creepy.

  • wow jabberwocky, pushing humpty dumpty off a wall, real originalllll

  • yeah that scene is quite scary, that scary fellow says much Beeeeeeter. I haven't seen this 1985 version before. If i have seen that scene when i was little i would have had nightmares. The little girl here is Natalie Gregory who plays Alice originally it was offered for child actress Heather O'Rourke but her agent had to turn it down because with money issues with them, so they got this girl instead (same age as well) I think they made her wear a wig lol.

  • yeah, her hair is really bond but her eyes are brown/black. :D Lol.

  • How many versions of Alice in Wonderland are there?!

  • As a kid this scene scared the crap out of me. Where she is like Beeeeeeter Muuuch Beeeeeter.. The sounds she made were creepy to me as a kid.

  • It sounds like Alice say's "What a beautiful butt you've got!" at 3:09.

  • I hope Humpty landed on a mat on the side of the wall we don't see! Still he had that egg to sort of break is fall.

  • I hope so too. I always felt bad for Humpty that he fell and broke. I wasn't sure if he fell because the Jabberwocky pushed him (it looked like the Jabberwocky hardly touched him before he fell) or because he slipped and tried to duck away or run away but accidentally fell backwards and broke. If the Jabberwocky really did push him, I don't know why he pushed Humpty because it was Alice he was after and not Humpty. (Maybe he pushed and broke Humpty so that he wouldn't save Alice).

  • it sounds like much bitcher!

  • bbbbbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttteeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr lol

  • The white queen is scary.
