I'll never forget my history teachers lesson in which he played one of hitlers speech and addressed how we all showed feeling of anger and remorse. Germany had no intention of "leading the world to...a new Golden Age." The Nazis would have thought such a claim utterly preposterous. Nazism was about promoting Germany -- and the rest of the world be damned.

@1Historygenius oh i thought you'd learned this already. in world war 2 germany did not occupy norway, yes it used force to persuade, but it left norways finances and country in charge by norwegians, infact norway and sweden came out of this "occupation" much richer than they went into it with. USA was actually the ones who raided and froze all norwegian trade and assets for the cause of(liberating enemy finances) it was americans who stole form norway, not germans, we fought side by side.

@EnjoiThrowdown I think that Hitler would have had a great empire if he stopped after the conquer of France and as for Britain, Hitler should not invade them but take out the 8th army and the oil fields so Britain would have to surrender and Hitler should not declare war on the US when the US did on Japan.
@1Historygenius At the time Britain was getting most of its Oil from the US (it was the "Saudi Arabia" of the world during the period of WW2, but oil demand then was MUCH lower than now) so taking out the Middle East wouldn't have necessarily defeated Britain. Still, it certainly would have been a serious blow. However, by his very nature Hitler was drawn toward attacking the USSR and once he did Germany was doomed. Declaring war on the US just hurried along the process.

@MrRanger654 It didn't turn out too well, you might have noticed. During the entire NAZI rule, life was hell for nearly everyone. You could be locked up for just about anything, there wasn't an impartial court system, most private clubs were outlawed, all other political parties were outlawed, education quality dropped precipitously, shortages of consumer goods and constant fear and suspicion. Then they started a war which meant no private cars, food rationing, nightly blackouts etc.

Also, Germany treated US and British POWs far differently then they did Eastern Europeans (SU). What I mean to say is that the regular soldiers and colonels of the regular army didn't do such otrocoties as the SS and the NSDAP. For example. churchil said that Donitz ordered his men to kill al survivors of a U-boat attack. but in reality he Broke the order several time and the fact is that the order came from Hitler and not from Donitz

For example Hitler ordered that Paris be destroyed as the army backed out of it, but the generals disobeyed that order and left Paris in pretty good shape considering. I'll never forget my history teachers lesson in which he played one of hitlers speech and addressed how we all showed feeling of anger and remorse. We knew not a single word of what he spoke, but showed that ordinary people regardless of the situation could be dissoriented by a mad man. You are mislead. @1Historygenius At the time Britain was getting most of its Oil from the US (it was the "Saudi Arabia" of the world during the period of WW2, but oil demand then was MUCH lower than now) so taking out the Middle East wouldn't have necessarily defeated Britain. Still, it certainly would have been a serious blow. However, by his very nature Hitler was drawn toward attacking the USSR and once he did Germany was doomed. Declaring war on the US just hurried along the process.

You could be locked up for just about anything, there wasn't an impartial court system, most private clubs were outlawed, all other political parties were outlawed, education quality dropped precipitously, shortages of consumer goods and constant fear and suspicion. Then they started a war which meant no private cars, food rationing, nightly blackouts etc.

Also, Germany treated US and British POWs far differently then they did Eastern Europeans (SU). Western pow's were treated as well as can be expected with war shortages and all, but at the same time Russians were being stripped and then mowed down with machine guns. Then there's auschwitz and all the camps.

For example Hitler ordered that Paris be destroyed as the army backed out of it, but the generals disobeyed that order and left Paris in pretty good shape considering. So, yes, there were probably some exaggerations or misinformation, but generally, most of the crimes they were accused of were true.

Certainly, Hitler was a man that could gather thousands of people but still he was EVIL like the original title of this extraordinary DOCUMENTARY

um Fedayi01, you seem to have misunderstood something here. Hitler was actually evil not great. Thanks to him more than 50 million people died in world war 2, not to mention like 7 million vicitims in his death camps.

@Commiebd Exactly.There are times when the whole world is boiling,some people blame a Serb for the start of WWI,but ignore all the stuff that was happening at the time politicially and econimically.In WWII if it wasn't Hitler it could have been somebody else.What if there was Stalin who attacked?National-socialism had some amazing new ideas and was remarkable in some parts,but the other half was as rotten and evil.

Hitler wasn't great! He was a power hungry evil bastard! My only regret about his death is that 6 million Jews had to die before he got what was long awaited for him. I hope every single person who believe that hitler is some kind of savouir suffers 10 times that of the Jews during the Holocaust!
