I love the way the Protomen took a really Japanese thing and turned it into a really American thing. They tap into this kind of Ayn Rand industrial retro-future, all steam and iron and working the mines. The robots are made into a symbol of that - Dr. Light forging the future, lifting mankind up. When Wily turns them into weapons it's a total perversion of their purpose - dragging man down. Eisenhower, Tesla, Edison, rail-roads and atom bombs, it taps right into all that shit. It's amazing.
Well, normally I would agree with you both, but that may just be how light sounds when he slides into his higher vocal register. For example in the song "Unrest in the House of Light" when he tells Megaman "you are ALL THAT I HAVE LEFT!" it sounds very similar to this. And while Wily has a higher pitched voice, there doesn't appear to be a break or overlap of sorts, the line seems to be a continuation and is sung in the same breath.
@KingKyubi Yes, according to the lyrics sheet it's Light's voice. Apparently he does a bunch of different voices, he's got a lot of range. I was confused the first few times I heard this.
@calivicavito Who updates that lyric wiki? I checked and it has been changed, but whoever changed it is wrong. Look at one of their live performances, Light sings the whole last verse. If Wily sings that ending part it just doesn't fit. Light's the one with the dead father, Wily's family isn't mentioned anywhere.
@EviIPaladin Really? I always thought it was Wily, even though the line is "My father's battle will be won", so I assumed Wily was trying to also gain sympathy from Light by saying his father died the same way as well
This album is a masterpiece. I don't know what, if any, progress there is on Act III, but I can't die until I hear it.

For some reason, it sounds like Wily was singing the last block. Probably because it was higher pitched than Light's normal voice.
In other news, epic song is epic.
