after reading all yall comments, i just have to say something. Does it matter whether a lot people know him or not? as long as the people who know him loves and respects his talent and works. i think that is all it matters and i hope tim would agree with me too
@xstetsonx Who cares if not a lot of people know him? I've been way into Tim's playing since I Luther College exposed me to his music back in '97. If Tim's solo and TR3 shows are small, intimate affairs so much the better (for me). I'd hate to go see this guy live and have it always be like Dave and Tim in Vegas with a bunch of rowdy shouting drunk fans talking during his set.
Tim played a song a long time ago that sounded a lot like a Pat Metheny tune but I have no idea what it was called. He played it at a show in Denver in 2005 at the Blue Bird and never said the name of it so I have no idea what album it's from or how old or anything. Maybe he would have spoken more if the fuckin' drunk people there would have shown some interest in his music and not alcohol. Does anyone have any idea what song I am thinking of and how to find it?
this makes me want to give guitar up...lol...this is rediculous...he is amazing...seen him and Dave in Winston-Salem a while back and totally blew my mind...could listen to his stuff over and over again!
nobody probably even thinks of this but me but i listen to all of tim's shit and tim will be so respected ong after he's dead. people will look back on these videos and be like god he must have been so famous. not really but they won't know better then. my favorite guitarist he trully plays every genre with every bit of energy he has in that little body of his. he is a steady rock reminding us all that it's all about love and all about the music. not the fans money or or the fame.
Both sides are true. We're very lucky that TIm inspired Dave in the ways that he did or we wouldn't have a lot of the great music DMB has given us. On the other side, I admit that if it wasn't for Dave Matthews I wouldn't know who Tim Reynolds was. And Tim probably wouldn't be too famous because a lot of people couldn't dig his amazing style. So I thank both Tim and Dave, for introducing me to eachother, directly or indirectly.
@Romans10Verse9 I totally agree with you on that one. But the funny thing is, I actually heard one of Tim's songs long before I started listening to DMB in '92, but I have no idea it was Tim Reynolds. I just remembered that it sounded so much like Pat Metheny that I went on a wild goose chase trying to fing this Metheny song. I still don't know the name of the actual song though!
dude it's fake - you can tell they sped up the video. THIS VIDEO IS FAKE!! Bwahahaa just kidding it really shouldn't be possible though.
I heard Tim for the first time yesterday on a live show in Telluride, Colorado cus I was looking to go ski there - total coincidence. He sent me into a state of shock with what I saw, as a guitarist myself. The DJ was also shocked and didn't know what to say afterwards, it was hilarious. Tim is an Alien King. He admitted he spends time on other planets.
The way that I stumbled across this song was by checking out Tim Reynolds and his Bach master piece... I've been playing guitar for 11 years now and some of the stuff he does makes me feel like I have never played before... Bow down to the best acoustic guitarist in the 20th and 21st centuries
if anything i'd figure drop d because Tim uses drop d a lot and it looks like the same Martin he uses for all of his standard/drop d songs on acoustic shows, i just don't know if he'd really take time to tune his guitar to an open tunning, but you never know...
tim reynolds is an alien. thats why he's so short and kinda weird looking. he beams that awesomeness from deep space, man.
