Cool though this is in principle, the MIDI track can't quite seem too deliver the dynamic subtleties that are actually necessary for this piece, especially once you compare it to the ELP version – which you inevitably will, some passages are just too similar. I think this would need the drum part to be played on a good e-drumset by a drummer who can very well play in the style of Carl Palmer, and also the bass part to be played on real bass with MIDI pickup, to sound really good.
@leftaroundabout If I remember rightly, in the director's commentary on Cathedral Pictures, Wayne Lytle wrestled with how to present the audio of the track. He admitted that he was inspired by ELP, but tried to do something different even though some of the influences were bound to creep through.
@howler344 The awesome part is that it is possible, it would just cost a lot of money and take quit a long time. (An organ by itself takes a ton of money and a lot of time to build and install)
are we free to use this in our material as long as we credit you? It would be really nice at the begining of our worship service in a couple weeks about techonolgy vs. our lives today. =)
@Poonard yeah it would be prog metal if it had guitar of course, and oh yeah, death metal would be awesome, especially if they had some demonic floating face with red glowing eyes that could scream like something fierce XD
@RainbowRaider7 hahaha! I love it! They should just go ahead and do every genre. Even stupid bubble gum britney spears pop songs. I would support it even if i didn't like the songs so much because it's such a neat way to get music across.
This is from Pictures at an Exhibition. Emerson Lake and Palmer did it in the 70's. I have both DVD's & CD's....it's one of my frequently played CD's... I can't wait till the next on to come out. Class & quality in one package.
I think these "countdown" videos are intended for showing to an audience while they wait for the main show to start, or for the speaker to go on stage. For example, in a church.
A lot of churches, and speakers use countdown videos to mark the beginning of a program or to show people how long a break has left. It's a surprisingly big business making countdown clocks.
An enjoyable listening and viewing experience as always with Animusic. Although, I must admit that the middle section reminds me a great deal of the music from the N64 game Banjo Kazooie.
Love animusic !!! <3
