@shridhardev1991 Hi, yes it works very well with the HV40, nice camera by the way! It gives some of the best results. As for the lens I would recommend to start with a Canon or Nikon 50mm f1.8. They're sharp, fast at f1.8 and affordable ($45 used to $120 new). From there you can decide if you want to go with wider or tighter lenses. Hope this helps!
@MissyBabe1013 Sorry the DVX isnt compatible, at least not without a few step rings and diopters. We recommend smaller DV and HD cameras. They can macro focus on the glass within the adapter much better than the larger cameras like the DVX. And yes, our adapter is compatible with Nikon lenses.
@PestVic Sort of true. It takes away a bit of the sharpness, clarity and flatness that is definitely part of the natural HD look. But for story telling, dramatic or cinematic purposes, its better to have a shallow depth of field and selective focusing that isnt really possible with out this adapter on a camera like this. In the end you sacrifice a little sharpness for style.
@VidAtlantic aww that sucks :( but i guess its good for certain artsy shots, the twoneil 35mm adapter keeps the HD quality. I wanted to go with them but it takes to long to get. so i think ill make my own :-P
@PestVic actually theres not a big difference between this adapter and others. Some of the others use home made ground glass, and those are the ones that destroy quality. The glass that is used in the EnCinema is the sharpest available anywhere, thats why the price is slightly higher than the cheaper homemade glass models. I think this video is an old render so its not a good example for clarity...maybe checkout some of the newer clips.
@VidAtlantic ive seen all the videos from the encinema and twoneil websites and the twoneils look 10x more HD. where are the new clips? im very interested. i dont want to wait a month... or ill just build mine :-P
Hello there, quick question as I'm trying to learn about cameras with no knowledge. But at the end of the video when you're attaching the lens on what is that thing that the camera is mounted on? That mini tripod type thing...(I know its not one but I don't know the name) also can that contraption be attached onto a tripod? I have a 701 HDV Manfrotto. Thanks!
@TheAwesomeJassim Its Bogen Manfrotto telephoto lens support. Its not a necessity unless you want to use long and heavy telephoto type lenses. We used it in thie video to show that accessories can still be used with this kind of set up.
Also, there is a shoulder support system from Byrns & Sawyer hollywood that the telephoto support is attached to.
@CircleofShit ahh, yes, AVCHD is the recording format. Premiere CS5 recognizes that format natively now. Also Cineform NeoScene is a good way to unwrap it and edit with it any other other program.
It looks professional camera's image, I have a small camera HD, not canon version, made in China, but it films great. Can I use your adapter and will you send me to London address please?
@yazhannai Yes, as long as it has filter threads for the EnCinema adapter to simply screw right into, it will work. And Yes, we ship to the UK regularly. Thanks for your interest!
Tough question...I have and use both cameras, but I lean towards the HV30 now even though I hate capturing from tape. But the quality is much much better on the HV30 as it has a larger imager and higher bit-rate. Plus once it is captured, it is much easier to edit with than editing AVCHD from the HF100. So, in my opinion...the HV30 wins! I hope that this helps.
Thats another tough one as well! The HG20 is amazing and seems to have the best of all worlds, larger imager, high bitrate and hard drive based recording, but I still would go for the HV30 as it is easier to edit with right now. AVCHD takes lots of power to handle. HDV is simple and the codec seems warm yet sharp.
hello. just want to ask one question. will it work with CANON HV40? and which 35mm lens do you suggest i should get? thanks in advance.

does it work with a jvc gz hd3?
DerebellenHiphop 5 months ago
@DerebellenHiphop Yes, it works very well with the HD3. Since the HD3 needs a macro filter set it gives even brighter results with less vignetting.

Would I be able to get such a great quality using the EnCinema adapter with my Panasonic dvx100B camcorder and Nikon 35mm lens??

What type of HD does the HF100 shoot in?
CircleofShit 1 year ago
@CircleofShit It shoots full HD at 1920x1080 or 1280x720.
VidAtlantic 1 year ago
@VidAtlantic Thanks but I meant is it AVCHD or what?

at 00:08, there are circular tiny lines at the right side. Is this because of the focus screen? Can't we beat it?
limitedphoton 1 year ago
@limitedphoton yes, the ground glass is at a slight angle cause the refraction. Once it is positioned properly it doesnt do that.

Would the adapter also fit the Canon LEGRIA HF R16?
SBSEAMFilms 1 year ago
@SBSEAMFilms Sorry but it seems that the HF R16 doesnt have filter threads for the adapter to mount on to.

What lens is used here? I absolutely love it. I would forsure buy it if i knew what lens.
GladVids 2 years ago
Thanks! Its an EnCinema adapter ($199) from Vid-Atlantic and a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 Lens ($85).

Some of the shots have dirty ground glass..those were very early shots during experimenting with different types of glass and lenses.
