  • Scotty, do you endorse some of these products you feature in your videos?

  • @hummarstra na, I just use em. But if you can get me a sponsorship, I'd gladly share the money with you.

  • "Just find a hole to the nozzle in" Thats what she said

  • Scotty your videos are really helpful, thanks!

  • I didn't read all these comments, but what also helps is to turn off the A/C and run it on vent only, your last mile or so. This dries up the air in there, and helps keep the stink away. I guess in humid areas you may want to run the heater.

  • WHY YOU'RE WORRY ABOUT THE WAY HE APPLIED THE SILICONE

  • excellent tip sir, but the way you applied the silicone was nasty

  • @sr5813 it is not silicone, you did not watch the video very closely. And yea, it's a messy job, that's life, you just hose the reside off. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer you clearly said silicone at 2:32

  • @scottykilmer you did say silicone...

  • @sr5813 hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah

  • this man would make a premium kamasutra on video

  • you're a bit crazy. but a good crazy. thanks for the tips lol

  • Hey Scotty lately I've been noticing a kind of mist coming out of the vents into the inside car compartment when I turn on the AC, specially when it has rained outside or when is misty outside, however it does have a funny smell, but it only mist when the AC is on. When I turn of the AC it stops. Do you have any suggestions. Thank you very much.

  • @74bluewolf yea, clean out your evap case, spray some lysol in there, you probably have bacteria and mold living in there. Also clean the drain hose, it may be clogging up. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Thanxs Scotty I'll try that.

  • I have a 1996 Maxime only Has one vent on driver Side what Would i have to do to get to the other side

  • Can you tell me the proper location to spray for 03 pt crusier. Thanks, great videos.

  • @cnorth50 just remove the blower motor and spray the condenser right there. A bit of work, but it beats drilling holes if you don't know what is where (as you could punch a hole in the wrong part.) scotty

  • Hi Scotty, Last year we got smell after some spilled milk accident on my Civic's carpet last year. So we got detailing cleaning done. Smell faded away with time. But the fan smells a lot. I am thinking of following your video to cleaning the evaporator, but I am not sure if my car's issue is same as described in this video. The fan smells only if AC is turned off. Somhow when we switch on the AC, the smell goes away while the AC is on. Do you think I should clean my evaporator?

  • @shobhitg Certainly give it a try, coating it can get rid of smells . Scotty

  • Remember. Scotty u need to tell them in no way u should enter the vehicle. While. The fan is drying. The chemical. I can cause breathing. Issues

  • @biggdaddy2001 Yea, roll down the windows and let it sit an hour before driving. Scotty

  • So does that mean that we should ignore your video on spraying Lysol into both sides of the Intake by the wipers?

  • @darkvader47 No, that works too, and is easier to do. But this lasts longer and does a better job. Scotty

  • i have a 02 avalanche is there somewhere i can stick the hose so i wont make a hole

  • @southernstructure remove the blower motor resistor assembly and stick it in that hole, after putting duct tape on the hole and putting a small hole in it for the hose. Scotty

  • so i guess if you own a ford your going to drill a new hole every year. lol

  • @AndyRoddick969 you could just take off the silicone each year and put new on

  • Thanks Scotty!

  • Scotty, I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota truck that leaks water into the passenger floor when running ac. I had a guy take air and try to blow out the hard to get drain tube in the engine compartment already. Could I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the case like you did in the top so the water will drain out?

  • @nexpro1 Yes, those dodges are designed like crap, you can't access the original drain hose very well. So making a new one and putting a hose on it through the firewall would be a good move. Scotty

  • great video as always!!!!! very explicit and easy to follow instructions

    please keep it coming.

    thanks a lot scotty

  • just pour some bleach in the box and drill a hole on the bottom

  • @fordbroncodave But then it will stink like mad, and that doesn't coat it. realize that's a poisonous gas, they used it in WWI to kill people. Scotty

  • Scotty, you're awesome! thanks for ALL your vids! keep them coming! you dispel the layman's fugue and make some of the easier repairs and upkeeps accessible to us non-mechanic folk! thank you!

  • Hi Scotty will this work in a 2009 Camry?

  • @quydaica yes, it will work on any car with an AC system. Scotty

  • or clean ur cabin air filter

  • @crystalscan2002

Not all cars have a cabin filter. specially older vehicle

  • Looks almost similar to the Accord that you used the Lysol on. Pretty cool tip though. I noticed on your bike you have the Airborne eagle on there, is Airborne the same as an Army Ranger? I always get confused by the rank & file.

  • @Michiganborn1969 No, 101st airborne is it's own unit, and mine was the aviation unit. Scotty

  • Hi Scotty, Nice vids.

Where did you learn these vast knowledge and skill in car repair? Did you go to like a technical school? apprenticeship? im really interested. How long would it take

  • @FoolishInTheEnd I learned from my grandfather working at the corner Texaco gas station. Then I just have a knack for figuring things out. I never went to school for fixing cars, I was writing my Phd at the University of Illinois, but then got married and gave up with that crap and went back to fixing cars. It's much more sane. Scotty

  • @Kevmo7 blue smoke being from burning oil. you said your engine was rebuilt 20k miles ago, but are you sure it's not the valve guides or guide seals? A headgasket would of course either blow white smoke out the exhaust, or leak into the oil system and create a brownish milky oil. compression test is one thing, but try a leakdown test instead.

  • hay thats my van cool!

  • love your vids scotty ☺

  • Just a little silicone eh? Haha, love the videos Scotty, keep em' comin'!

  • @Kevmo7 depends on the smoke color, black is running too rich, white is burning coolant. Scotty

  • You are a nut but I wish you were my neighbor. :)

    Again, great vid!

  • Thanks for making this video! I need to do this to my 91 Camaro really badly

  • so where does all the crud and fluid from the cleaner go that you spray in there? does it just pool down in the bottom of the evaporator box? seems like it would just come back

  • @Diesel1Dee

It drains out the little hose in the bottom of the evaporator box that the condensed water drains out.

  • @Diesel1Dee No, it drains out the drain like water when you run the AC. Scotty

  • Hi scotty, great video once again.

I'm having a problem with my Camry, could I send you a video of what its doing?

    via email of course.

  • @FSX10133 sure, but make a youtube video then send me the URL. Scotty

  • That's a pretty cool spray.

That looked bigger than a 1/8" drill bit

  • @2LateIWon OK, you got me. I just used the drill bit I had in the drill. The directions call for a 1/8ths inch one. I like things a little bigger. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer thats what she said lol

  • @scottykilmer It's not that big of a deal. If it's bigger you can move it around and coat it better. As long as you can seal it when it's done its all good. Great vid. I've never heard of that spray before.

  • cool

  • I remember the one you did with the can of Lysol.

  • @stonehopper1067 This is MUCH better, as it coats it an prevents bacteria and mold from growing again for a LONG time. Scotty

  • @stonehopper1067 I do that now thanks to Scotty's advice. :-) My wife got in our other car and mentioned it smelled better (previous owner smoked).

  • could you put a screw in the hole in case tou ever need to do it again?

  • @itscody317 Sure, that's a good idea. Just don't make it too long to poke a hole in the evaporator. Scotty

  • Thank you

  • Hey scotty, great video keep up the good work! I love watching these

  • :)
