Ali's greatest strength was mental. He had an unshakable belief in himself no matter what he was up against he believed he could overcome it, the Foreman fight was a prime example , Ali willed himself past Big George .Epic!!!
i remember watching this on a sunday evening at the movies in sydney.....when it finished i felt so uplifted i wanted to go out and hug people and tell them that anythings possible hope is not dead.....so i went to maccas had a double whoppa and then went to be!!!!
@lemigod If Roy Jones the steroid cheat and Floyd Mayweather the worst trash talker in history came from Ali's family tree then he should have made the woman have an abortion. Leonard is the only name on that list who is even close.
Ali is the gayest fighter that ever lived & the most over-hyped, notice how he holds a lot in most of his fights also, & always on the backfoot, tyson at his best would have ate this pansy ballet boy up, also rocky marciano would have ate joe frazier up for breaskfast ( ali lunch ) frazier had one punch his left hook, & a glass jaw ( foreman fight ) marciano was the best conditioned heavy of all time, he had a left hook, uppercut & a right hand from hell, & the punches came from all angles.
@StrictlyBusiness786 im exactly the same. ALI you are the greatest and everyone knows it. you are the living legend. there is nobody living their life that could be more of a role model than you are. you are god, we praise and worship you, you were the greatest, you are the greatest, you will always be the greatest. Muhammad Ali, legend.
@StrictlyBusiness786 You could not have picked a betterhero & role model. I was 15 when he beat Sonny Liston and all that came after that fight. I was 19 when he came to Wayne State University in Detroit. He was in the fight of his life against the FULL power of the U.S.A. Justtice Dept. He beat them with dignity, then went back into the boxing ring and "wooped 'em all". This world will never see another like him !
@StrictlyBusiness786 I admired him for many years until I realized he was a draft dodger and how disrespectful he was to a TRUE HERO who DID serve his country Joe Louis.
Muhammad was great but he can never be a man or hero in the ranks of Joe Louis.
@Loba2me the reason Ali dodged the draft is because it was against his beliefs, because he openly criticised it was an unjust war against a people who did nothing to harm him or his brethren. Learn about it. This is part of what makes him the hero he is, because he stood up for what was right. Joe Louis was great but not the man of principle Ali was, and is.
The reason he dodged the draft is because it was against his principles, not our of fear. He refused to fight and kill a people who he felt never harmed him or his brethren, at a time when blacks were being hosed down and pepper sprayed for demanding equal rights. Learn about it before disparaging a true hero for humanity, Pro American or not.
@Loba2me The reason he dodged the draft is because it was against his principles, not out of fear. He refused to fight and kill a people who he felt never harmed him or his brethren, at a time when blacks were being hosed down and pepper sprayed for demanding equal rights. He was up there with MLK on the socio-political platform over and above being a boxer. Learn about it before disparaging a true hero for humanity, Pro American or not.
Just so you know, it wasn't really draft dodging. It used to be called conscientious objection. No one should be forced to fight for something they don't believe in. Even if you think someone is flawed it doesn't mean they weren't heroic or great. Humans have flaws
@StrictlyBusiness786 Good for you, young people should know who he is. He stood for what he believed in and was willing to lose everything for what he believed in. A true giant of a man... and one hell of a fighter at the same time. One in a million.
Ali gives me strength when i'm feeling low. brilliant boxer, very brave in advocating freedom of speech when it was very dangerous for an african american to do so and an amazing humanitarian. you did a great job with this. it was exactly the post i was looking for!
i just watched the documentry and i loved it so much Mohamed Ali is a legend it's more than to be just a movie or just a person it's history it sends a great messge to you and me and it means us

Actually i cried when i saw the movie
I know im just 13 and im a girl but i think it's history and it deserved to be see it and it deserve to be know it by the whol world
lol speaking of pound for pound just imagine it Ali was already too fast and quick for his opponents as a heavyweight imagine if he went to a few lower weight classes, lol it would be like fighting a bolt of lightning itself
A wonderful man in and out of the ring, a man that listend to himself, he let no-one put him down, e stood up for what he believe that was right, he was the greatest, he is the greatest and he will always be the greatest! ALI BOMA YE!

Haha, people are upset cuz he didn't fight in the war. Ali was so right when he said ''no vietcong ever called me a nigger''. And that you people don't even stick up for him in America so why the fuck should he fight for you?
lol i love the begining to this video when he's punching and dancing. he's always been a funny guy and thats one of the main reason's why he stood out from most boxers is because most boxers are always serious and intimidating. Nobody could be as good as Ali was. LONG LIVE THE GREATEST! btw you fucking racist ppl under my comments should just stfu and enjoy him for who he was. =]
i couldn't agree more, there is no better song to reflect the milestone reached in present day American politics.somebody please make a video using Obama clips and speeches.Peace, love and Obama to all my peoples.
Real life hero, born in majesty, destined for greatness, we have too raise or own hands, and blow our own horns, and tell our own truths, Crown our own Kings, of, if not, why not ,that there is no debate
BEAUTIFUL DEMONSTRATION OF GRACE UNDER FIRE,HOLLYWOOD COULDNT HAVE SCRIPTED A LIFE AND STRUGGLE THAT IS NOW AND WAS THEN THE LIFE OF the incomprable Muhammad Ali,well done, well done.
Pound for pound is is used to make comparison between fighters from different weight classes ex. Eventhough ali never fought at middleweight, based on the skills or teqniques he used in the heavyweight division, we imagine him to be just as good.
IQ tests arent a valid way to measure a man's intelligence. He must be smart because he was able to forge a viable career out of nothing. Apparently he knows a lot that a lot of us don't. Don't hate him for that. he's the greatest and that's that!!
Ali was the best pound for pound fighter in the history of boxing. So quick for a heavyweight, so ring smart. He understood how to self promote himself. He refused to fight for a country who was happy to send black people to there deaths in a bullshit war, but refused to give them equal rights.
Ali was the Greatest!! fuck any motherfucker who says otherwise!!!!
More than likely you are a racist american, upset that he did not fight in the vietnam war, may be your mother got ragged by a vietnamese and your upset?...may be you thought ali could have helped her in vietnam? I dont know? May be you are a child of your daddy and sister and you have no control over what you type.
SF75115 Are you serious? The lowest IQ? Have you ever seen him talk? I would have to say he has a high IQ..I think he is highly intelligent..Muhammad Ali is the greatest of all time. I think you have a low IQ asshole, Your father built you a swing set towards the wall as a child didn't he?
Ali scored 85 on a iq test and was in the bottom of his graduating class. That's what dumbass there is babbling about. This was because he spent most of his school years training and didnt understand the stuff on the test, and didnt bother doing homework ect.You can just listen to him talk to understand how brilliant he really was.If he applied himself to school like he did to boxing he'd be in the ??160 range for sure.
By far he was the smartest champ ever.Swingset against a wall?!hehehe
what the fuck you saying about Muhammad Ali, sf75115?! he is a great man and a man who was standing up for his rights and religous beliefs. he wanted other people to stand up for their rights also so boxing was a tool to help him to get the message out. he is a true hero, a prophet and more great you can ever imagine, asshole!
idk why dey had to show dat creepy stupid freak michael jackson for he aint got nothin to do wit dis idk why he changed himself either dats his fault not ours but anyways ALI ALI ALI ALI I LOVE ALI HES DA GREATEST HE SHOOK UP DA WORLD HE SHOOK UP DA WORLD
We all love Ali! "When we were kings" was a great tribute to Ali and Foreman. Two great champions. Ali never compromised on those values he believed in and although he took a lot of flack for refusal to enlist with the vietnam draft he was latered looked on as a hero for not joining such an unhonorable conflict and probably lost the best fighting years of his life (67-70). He certainly proved himself to be the greatest fighter of all time and the world will never see such a fine athete.
Most professional athletes are all wrapped up into themselves with their millions of dollars, mansions, mistresses and fancy cars where money didn't mean anything to Ali and he was more interested in being around people and helping unfortunate people. It is something that seems to be rare with professional athletes that are all overpaid as it is. Ali was just a good soul.
Muhammad ali was the greatest boxer of all also. he defide all the odds when people thought he didn't stand a chance, like the sonny liston fight and the george foreman fight! What a guy!!!!!
If you think Cassius Clay is revered, all I have to say, is what drugs are you on? Who brain washed you? He is a tool, that is all, and a low IQ one at that. He embarrassed his country and the black cause, and did so with the lowest IQ in all of boxing.
lol americans disgrace there own country boi so wake up, ali was brilliant maby he couldnt read or write but he was clever because he is mentally strong somthing u will nevah hav
My heart goes out to you, if you cannot understand the important role Ali played in History. I think that it is important that you go back and understand history. It is most certain that many of our greatest historic figures were not formally educated. He is anything but a shame to our community. Ali, toppled high mountains, with few tools. I thank him and respect him. But, I do not respect what you have posted. It is your words that are shameful.
U know once upon a time Ali was one of the most hated men in the USA, now he is revered. The lesson to be learnt is to be who you are....the world may dislike you one day and it may like you the next but as long as you are true to yourself then you truly are the King of your destiny.
Look at the huge crowds at 1:50 that just came to see Ali. What sportsman could pull in so many people in Africa today? Tiger Woods? Michael Jordan? No chance. Ali is above them all.

I forgot about this--starting a new job and working at a FedEx Hub, especially around this time of year, makes for a shortage of time.
Maybe for the Innaguration. ..

In light of what looks like is about to happen in the US in a few days--this song seems all the more poignant.
(I wonder if a 'Visual Remix' may be in order. . . ")

Real life hero, born in majesty, destined for greatness, we have too raise or own hands, and blow our own horns, and tell our own truths, Crown our own Kings, of, if not, why not ,that there is no debate

Ali is the greatest cant noone today move as fast as he did when he was in his prime but much repect to all the other boxers everywhere else
yillo2007 3 years ago 3
Pound for pound is is used to make comparison between fighters from different weight classes ex. Eventhough ali never fought at middleweight, based on the skills or teqniques he used in the heavyweight division, we imagine him to be just as good.
This is what is meant by pound for pound.
solly118 3 years ago 2
IQ tests arent a valid way to measure a man's intelligence. He must be smart because he was able to forge a viable career out of nothing. Apparently he knows a lot that a lot of us don't. Don't hate him for that. he's the greatest and that's that!!
omitchell04 3 years ago 4
Ali was the best pound for pound fighter in the history of boxing. So quick for a heavyweight, so ring smart. He understood how to self promote himself. He refused to fight for a country who was happy to send black people to there deaths in a bullshit war, but refused to give them equal rights.
Ali was the Greatest!! fuck any motherfucker who says otherwise!!!!
solly118 3 years ago
pound for pound? he was only in one weightclass : Heavyweight. how could he be pound for pound???
juanf88 3 years ago
More than likely you are a racist american, upset that he did not fight in the vietnam war, may be your mother got ragged by a vietnamese and your upset?...may be you thought ali could have helped her in vietnam? I dont know? May be you are a child of your daddy and sister and you have no control over what you type.
solly118 3 years ago
SF75115? Are you a retard? He was one of the most popular men in the world at one time, may be he still is! He is nearly every boxer's
inspiration. Movie's have been made about him. He has recieved awards for sport years after he retired.
How can you say he is not revered?
solly118 3 years ago
SF75115 Are you serious? The lowest IQ? Have you ever seen him talk? I would have to say he has a high IQ..I think he is highly intelligent..Muhammad Ali is the greatest of all time. I think you have a low IQ asshole, Your father built you a swing set towards the wall as a child didn't he?
integra99rs 3 years ago

Muhammmad Ali of the 60s and 70s was a flawed character but a hero anyway. His was a time when we could look to our athletes for inspiration.

He certainly proved himself to be the greatest fighter of all time and the world will never see such a fine athete.
justme154 3 years ago
Most professional athletes are all wrapped up into themselves with their millions of dollars, mansions, mistresses and fancy cars where money didn't mean anything to Ali and he was more interested in being around people and helping unfortunate people. It is something that seems to be rare with professional athletes that are all overpaid as it is. Ali was just a good soul.

If you think Cassius Clay is revered, all I have to say, is what drugs are you on? Who brain washed you? He is a tool, that is all, and a low IQ one at that. He embarrassed his country and the black cause, and did so with the lowest IQ in all of boxing.
sf75115 3 years ago
lol americans disgrace there own country boi so wake up, ali was brilliant maby he couldnt read or write but he was clever because he is mentally strong somthing u will nevah hav

He is and will be the CHAMP and the greatest of em all. We can never have such champion as clever as he is. He is the Shakepeare of boxing.
