@IceQeen1011 i read that at night you should put the puppy in a crate in your room and then when she needs to go to the bathroom the puppy starts making sound and then you walk her to her bathroom. Dont worry, puppies wil only 2 times MAX at night, probably just one time.

so why on EARTH would you "ima chain him up"... as if that was normal and the thing to do. Dogs (or any animal for that matter) should NEVER be chained. If you cannot afford to create large enclosure for your animal, with high, safe fences so he does not escape or get injured, fresh water, good shade and food, then you should not own an animal.

Walk your puppy as soon as it wakes up from naps or just after its eats. Smaller breeds may be harder to potty train. Remember, positive reinforcement works best ! Pay attention to excessive sniffing as it can be a sign puppy is about to potty.

My little Boston Terrier barks if he makes a poop accident. ha ha thats funny and I just clean it up. But, for the most part he poops upon waking and twice after breakfast and twice in the afternoon. Then before bedtime he poops 3 times. If I did not pay attention he be in trouble all the time. Training and being a good watchful owner is the best way and only positive reinforcement no negative.

If you decide to go to a shelter make sure you do research on the breed of dog. find out if its a mix or or pure breed. you want to know its a good match for you. Please do go to a pet shop most likely the puppy came from a puppy mill from people that dont care about animals they are only trying to make a profit. they dont look for genetic defects when they breed they just breed what ever dog they can

He seems reluctant, even afraid, to go outside at all now! I take him out often, about every half hour/hour depending on his recent activity, for about 10 minutes at a time. But he won't go potty. Then five minutes inside he's trying to pee on the floor! I've had him four days and I'm already quite stressed over the issue

Step 1. Before you get inside your house tell your dog to pee

Step 2. Use a command like 'go peepee'. Do NOT say 'hurry up' because if you say hurry up to someone, your dog might think your talking to him and will do his business where he is.

Step 3. When she starts doing her business do NOT talk or she'll stop in the middle of doing her business.

Step 3. When your dog is finished reward them and say 'good dog'

@Triamatria well,first of all do NOt get any puppy from a pet store.Second,when your puppy pees on the floor,you should ignore it, show him your back and fold your arms.Then,clean up its pee very quietly and ignore it.In a 1-2 months[for your puppy], it won't pee inside again.BUT always give it a treat right after he is finished peein/pooping.

@Triamatria I've been using a crate and it works fine. My puppy stays in there playing with her toy and then starts crying when she needs to potty. I make her wait an extra 2 minutes before taking her outside with a leash on. I then snap my fingers and say "Go Potty!" And she almost always pees instantly on command. It's pretty cool! :)

@Triamatria it depends. if you hit your dog or push his face in his own mess, they aren't going to want to do their business in front of you because they'll think that your just going to hit them or whatever you do. If you do this abusive stuff, don't worry, just stop doing that and it'll eventually work out for you. If you don't do this abusive stuff, then hopefully it all worked out by now or just try to look for more research.

@Triamatria get a litter box i guess. maybe your dog is just more comfortable going to the bathroom inside so instead of trying to train it to go outside train it to go in a litter box or something that can be used again and you are alright with your puppy going to the restroom on. if it works with cats it will most likely work on dogs :)
