Didn't shoot at the other buck, he never came closer, but since it was the last day of BOW and I haven't had a shot so far I took this deer.....meat for the freezer.....not the greatest shot I have to admit, but it worked,
My bow is loud ... I used an old Browning for a long time...and the bow camera mount doesn't help, but last year I bought a new Matthews DXT and I love that thing !!
I think so too, but the bow season was over for me so I took whatever I saw that last weekend....no problem, what kills me is when this winter kill this year, I've run across 2 button bucks that dies due to winter kill this year...that's not cool.

I am NOT a hunter and never went hunting, but I have no problem with hunters killing for meat/food. The kill looks "fast/clean" in comparision to the way they kill poultry and larger animals by cutting their throats (slaughter houses)and waiting for them to die. I would likd to "try out" deer meat one day but I don't have any friends who are hunters. I have not seen "venison" (sp?) for sale in any supermarket either.

I accidentally shot a button buck last season thinking it was a doe. I felt bad, mostly because he was young and I would much rather take an older deer. Take it as a learning experience. As for the anti-hunters, pretty much ALL money that goes into conservation comes from hunters, without hunters there would not be wildlife or habitat for them. I would much rather eat natural meat that isn't full of disgusting hormones from cattle that lived in a disgusting factory farm.

My bow is loud ... I used an old Browning for a long time...and the bow camera mount doesn't help, but last year I bought a new Matthews DXT and I love that thing !!

I think so too, but the bow season was over for me so I took whatever I saw that last weekend....no problem, what kills me is when this winter kill this year, I've run across 2 button bucks that dies due to winter kill this year...that's not cool.

Anyone who thinks all deer should lie down and die instantly when hit with an arrow is an idiot. It's great when it happens but isn't something to expect. Neither is taking a button buck, but it happens. You feel bad, then you get over it and have some tasty meals. The deer population is in no danger. 60,000 deer/car accidents per year in Michigan!

Are you kidding? I dont even hunt, and i can understand the fact that we suffer from a huge overpopulation of deer in our country. Hunting is THE ONLY effective way to control the population. The meat feeds hungry people. Proper training is required to aquire a lincence! Too many deer become a nusance. They spread disease and destroy vegetation. Youd change your tune, I bet, if you hit 3 deer in 2 months while driving like me. Almost killed my wife. But for now, go hug a tree you moron.

I am NOT a hunter and never went hunting, but I have no problem with hunters killing for meat/food. The kill looks "fast/clean" in comparision to the way they kill poultry and larger animals by cutting their throats (slaughter houses)and waiting for them to die. I would likd to "try out" deer meat one day but I don't have any friends who are hunters. I have not seen "venison" (sp?) for sale in any supermarket either.

I accidentally shot a button buck last season thinking it was a doe. I felt bad, mostly because he was young and I would much rather take an older deer. Take it as a learning experience. As for the anti-hunters, pretty much ALL money that goes into conservation comes from hunters, without hunters there would not be wildlife or habitat for them. I would much rather eat natural meat that isn't full of disgusting hormones from cattle that lived in a disgusting factory farm.

That's great that you killed that big buck, but there is more to hunting than killing big ones. I would like to see that deer though. I bet it's impressive. Just keep in mind that it's not all about size, it's also about the thrill of the hunt, no matter if it's a doe or a buck.

I hope that all these fucking tree-huggers are vegetarians, because then they wouldn't be hypocrites, because thats what they are when they are eating the meat that has been raised for slaughter. taking the 3-4 deer a year that a hunter can, keeps other deer from starving to death and keeps the farmers yields up, deer are devastating on crops. i don't know how people can have such strong opinions and have no idea what they are talking about.

I have shot a button buck thinking it was a doe. It wasn't on purpose, as I'm sure this wasn't, but he did taste good. For those who think killing any living thing is wrong, do deer not kill poor defenseless little flowers? Looking at it like that, you should want them to stop doing that. Cause it was the last weekend of bow season and probably the last time out for me before gun season. That deer tasted better than my bow tag would have tasted. I though it was a doe I was taking, but it was a button buck. Can you see the logic there? Thanks for the comment.
