I would allow for hunting rifles to be in the home (non-automatic) because that falls into sport. All other firearms (handguns included) because of their intended purpose which is to kill, to maim, or to intimidate, should be housed at regulated firing ranges / armories. That way, you can still use your guns and get the rush you need, but it can be done safely and the gun can't be stolen. That way, in case of armageddon, you can still run there and get your gun.

I would allow for hunting rifles to be in the home (non-automatic) because that falls into sport. All other firearms (handguns included) because of their intended purpose which is to kill, to maim, or to intimidate, should be housed at regulated firing ranges / armories. That way, you can still use your guns and get the rush you need, but it can be done safely and the gun can't be stolen. That way, in case of armageddon, you can still run there and get your gun.

My point is that the laws aren't strong enough when it comes to guns, and even inforcing them does nothing to prevent you from killing me or any one else should you decide to go on a killing spree. Our founding fathers could never have imagined the firepower available to today's citizen. They fired, single-shot muskets! IT reads, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." According to a proper English translation this right should only apply to the people belonging to a well-regulated militia--not every one! This is where you're badly mistaken... The author(s) of the Constitution weren't stupid when they wrote the Second Amendment. It plainly states that the people have a right to obtain guns in case the government gets too powerful.
Yes, the government is supposed to protect us, but the 2nd Amendment protects US from the government and from criminals or intrusions.

You are right on... Democrats think they are making history by voting for Obama... ha! Real history can be made by voting for McCain. There already are restrictions. You have to pass a background check to buy a gun (any gun) in any state. Its the law. Go to a gun store and find out for yourself.
