I hate it how people say saw is better than this, they only say that because in saw, the victims have a chance to survive and they've done something to deserve being a victim, there's a tinge of empathy in the saw films, which people can relate to. Hostel is so raw and depraved, and there is no chance for the victim to survive. This movie delves into the sadistic side of human nature and makes a profit out of it, Saw is just ridiculous compared to this, this shit actually happens irl.

Whereas truth is sicker then fiction, in the movie it was kidnapped backpackers in real life it was parents selling off their children to this fate.
