  • btw you should probably make it clear that the temp is in Celsius and not Farenhiet for the Americans.

  • you lost me. i can't tell from your video if you are for or agaist this heater. and can't tell if the heater works.

  • The guide is there... I added everything I could to help.. regardless of my tastes/ tags or speed of video work....just slow it down, mute etc.. This works..

    Have fun...

  • Still going strong.. added another 2 LED lights (converted those 500w square type ones to LED) hung them from the solar panel to light up my garden.

Been thinking about the Water heater..need to get that one done.

  • did you really have to put MOST VIDEO at the end of every sentence ???most video..

  • LOVED THE MUSIC! LOL people are so funny I wonder if the people complaining ever heard of MUTE before. Thanks for the video....one suggestion slow down the clips a bit they actually kinda go in synch with the speed of the music which wa

s way to fast for me. But I accomadated with the pause function

  • @craigslist04 ,lol, your welcome

  • loved the music!

  • most annoying video ever i am deployed and was actually trying to learn something but cant drag any more humanity out of my whole body to watch more than 2 minutes of this crap video great idea terribly horrifyingly unimaginably sickening presentation!

  • Looks like I need to brush up on my psychology and be ready for the mundane arguments

The sun is shining in the sky and their aint a cloud in sight...

    luv my life.xxx

  • the most video on every slide was VERY ANNOYING...most video

  • @Quirkification it is extremely annoying,,so is the music, then again u could by pass these tedious self issues and move on in life.

  • After 20 seconds I had to stop the video because the terrible music.

  • @johnbleeker mute button..simple..enjoy the free heat when u eventually get round to building one.

  • @mostvideosolar love the song, went perfectly with the video, and I liked the part with the Tennants.

  • Crap muzac again

  • @viking1au sorry... luv the music, go down the road of ...mmm, does this work?.. could I build one for myself?..

  • If you super glue your cans a little before putting on caulk they will stay together while your working on them. It holds them together while drying.

  • cool..i mean hot..

  • Top Notch ! Looks great and the video is fantastic. Greetings from Scotland

  • Great job!

Thanks for the inspiration, it is hard to imagine how many projects like this have been created. The concept is so simple really.

Now that we have this heat, be sure to go around and seal your home from air infiltration and ex-filtration. It be a shame to loose that heat even if it is "free"

  • Hey, great work! Might try the same sort of thing .... wonder if it would blow air warmer than 25C into my lounge room on a 5C sunny day here in Denmark? Maybe one could add a temp sensor so that the fan starts automatically when the air in the tubes is hotter than in a given room?

    Hmmm ...

  • I have temp sensor set at 30c & will reach 40c on a 3c sunny day

this is the small unit & is enough to raise my house temp to around 20c

  • Video is quick but I am in the middle of building my own.

  • ELO!! God i have not heard them in so long.... LOL..... Great piece of work simply beautiful! Can i borrow your video producer? ........LOL..... I've just posted the start of mine. 195 cans. I have to check and see if i still have my elo albums... lol...Great work....

    Ken

  • I think it's FANTASTIC nice work man !!!

I am already collecting my cans, in fact I am emptying some at this moment :-)

    Greets from the Netherlands.

  • Nice video, a bit quick though. It could do with being slowed down 50%. I'll need to watch it a few times to take it in.

  • added external socket, to inverter,, to run snake tanks during power cuts, (had two power cuts this year) ..only drawing 100watts to the tanks..also adding ultra bright blue LED strip lights to the side of my house (custom job)..lol

  • running sweet..even through the chem..

    ...

  • beautiful...

    Five Stars!!

  • AWESOME vid, and great choice of music, too! ***** and subbed! =^[.]^=

  • dont understand the question dean

  • used a mirror perspex sheet today.. to capture the sun rising, I deflected the rays onto the solar heater with instant results,,

  • I have the sun in my skies for the first time in 3 months without any HAZE.. wonder if its because all the planes are grounded with all that snow..lol

  • been watchin "MY" sun & noticed that those planes make some mess of the sky! whenever they go overhead, the sun just disapears into a milky haze.

  • great work and video

what size fin cut-outs do you use for soda cans?

    thank you very much!

  • Good work. :-)

    One of the Hungarians.

  • Hi I think your idea is excellent but I would like to use it attached to the house. Any idea how I could adapt the bottom manifold so I could feed it from inside the house and still use 4 fans.

  • Hi Gabby, what I have noticed having built this unit is the sun angle at different times of the year. Just after the build the sun was high, right now the sun is low & moving across the roof tops, but there is still enough of an angle to tilt the unit, thus 4 fan front chamber into 1 rear for the outlet from the house. My unit now sits on a wooden plinth, above my waste bins.

  • Nice idea but it seems a lot of work with all the drink cans. Would it not be easier just to use some tin pipe? (available from any plumbing supplier). I have some square piping from when we redid our rain gutters, the down pipes would fit nicely next to each other like your round tubes do. Nice effort though and thanks for the video

  • mmmm...u ready?? .. Mr Blue Sky.. Tin/pipe/tube..lol... doesn't have the same heat transfer..ok... they guys have already done what u need to to do.... do it..p.s..DO IT..ok,. don't ask any more heat in a hot summers CAR'S day questions..ok

  • Next project underway: converting an old coemar lighting effect to LED & slave it to my other lighting effects..100 x 10mm leds, stay tuned

  • Inlet 40.5/105

I could increase fans but house is 21/70, which is comfortable considering outside is 8/46

  • must you mostvideo have the mostvideo plastered mostvideo EVERYWHERE mostvideo?

  • yes..lol.. just built the unit.. u wont't be dissapointed

  • This question is for my2cents0, shoestring405, simplethoughts guy, and mostvideosolar:

Can any of you steer me to these elusive Hungarians work?

Do you leave the inner insulation silver, or paint it black too?

Why do you need to glue the cans to each other- can't you just press them together, or run a small cable thru the center and put some tension?

Does the curved class serve a purpose? I have easy access to surplus glass...

    Thanks!!

  • if you want a good heat source take my PC and turn on and you gonna se the real HEat

  • u bored...play a game or go for niburu.. keep u occupied for a few years..lol

  • Love the song, Love the video. Can you expand the detail of the fins? There is one on each can. What happens if they are omitted?

  • It was the Canadians who made these originaly & they didn't mention what the fins did, but the hungarians who I got the spec from state that the FINS make the air circulate in the cans which keeps the air in the tubes longer & helps draw the heat from the aluminium. turbine effect.. there is a load of people who didn't put th efins in & still get good results, I put them in as the hungarians really did there homework on this, they also tried different airflow etc, thats why my unit has 4 fans

  • My husband built one and has installed it on our south wall. He hasn't installed fans. So what I hear you saying is that the fans cause the air to circulate longer and build more heat? The weather got really bad the day after we installed it so it is hard to determine how well it is doing. Although on the first day it did get up to 120 in a partly cloudy sky.

  • HA HA HA ,you are funny man

  • sunlight angle low at this time of year (late Nov)..ground level is useless..I have moved the unit 3 foot off the ground.. still only getting about 4 hours heat..only option for me is to fix & ducted from the roof, which i cant do.....were nearing the shortest day of the year where I am

  • I'm really impressed with your project, it's very professional. However, it might not work during cold night or cloudy days. Do you think that it would be possible somehow to put a couple of light bulbs to heat the interior of the unit when there is no sun? Since the unit is totally sealed, probably a 25w light bulb would heat its interior very well, but I'm just speculating and I wonder if that would work at all. What do you think?

    Thanks!

  • lol..tried the 25w bulbs..u been in my garage at night??? lol..

cloudy/sunny = heat,,, rainy = no heat.. must have at least 5 mins on sunshine

  • added Capilary thermostat (volt free), have it set to come on & off at 35deg, now 100% self sufficient, walk away & leave it, weathers rubbish at the moment, probably gettin 2 days free heat, cloudy/sunny days about couple hours heat, still got the WOW factor though..lol..peak temp 65 with all four fans running, outside temp 10 deg

  • fantastic video and project, very very good looking piece of equipment.

im trying to convince the wife that drinking that much beer does have its benefits :-P

  • Worked out really well, this was just a small test unit I was going to make the large panel but this is more than sufficient to heat my house during the day, Just added the 20w solar charger.. its now self sufficient.

  • Nice job mostvideosolar. You put lots of work into it and it looks great.

  • yes most impressive i have yet to finish mine but i have had some good temperatures.i really must finish it.

i also want make a water heater.i see that solar venti have a combined hot air and water panel which makes sense.

i look forward to more from you

  • That is one very professional job. - I look forward to seeing more of your work Martin.

  • My Heating oil has soared in the last 5 years, more than doubled, so winter heat is my priority. I'm planning a large water heater, incorporating panels to tank to radiators or underfloor heating system back to panels. it will be self sufficient solar powered, a closed system (with antifreeze for winter). I'll drain & refill the system in the summer & have valves to heat the kids swimming pool..lol

  • Day two, I had to buy a new temp gauge, I had the unit unpowered sitting outside, the weather 9.30am was 10c sunny & the unit temp was 63c, I left the unit, still off to see what the unit temp would rise to, it went off the scale on my digital thermometer at 70c , 11am, outside temp 13c.. so its warmer than 158f.

  • Tests:

First day, I sat the unit inside the patio door & ran the 4 fans all day the weather was 15c with sun/cloud throughout the day, my room temp peaked to 28c & the temp from the top of the unit was average 44.5c with no aid from domestic heating.

  • lol

  • Still to add aluminium edging, the unit produced condensation at the bottom of the perspex when I put it first in the sun. also the perspex bevelled & touched the cans after about 1 hour, heat was over 43 deg (thermostat only went to 43deg), will also add capillary thermostat to cut off fans when temp drops, solar panel & charge controller for self efficiency, 80mm insulated hydroponics ducting to house, & will let you know the results "lol" p.s thanks to the Hungarians..
