This album is as much Charlie Byrd as it is Stan the Man!

I have my copy but my father (who introduced me to it so many years ago) has THREE copies on vinyl, all in IMMACULATE condition. LOL! Such a slammin' album!

Anyway, if you dig this then look up Charlie Byrd's samba recordings; you'll dig!

@djfakt I've been a big fan Charlie Byrd since 1961. I think Charlie may have recorded more Bossa Nova than Stan did. My favorite Bossa album is his "Bossa Nova Pelos Passaros" ("Bossa Nova By The Birds") There are a couple of tracks at watch?v=hCY9V9HqJDQ. I know you are aware of it but I think some others may enjoy.

Typical Jazz musicians. Just because a guitarist doesn't play five thousand notes a second doesn't make it bad. It totally fits with the music. A Pat Metheny "burn it up" solo would ruin this and I could no longer make love with it on in the background. No wonder so many jazz musicians are starving.
