  • I always have a big knife and a small knife on me.Favorite small knifes are Spyderco Ladybug and Dragonfly and Benchmade Mini Grip. Bigger knives are Benchmade 710 or Spyderco Police G10 or Endura G10.

  • Knife guys really do just dig the old school reviews...!

  • Good old school stuff.

  • Nutn...I'm a TNPr from Malaysia...I just brought a Mini Presido Ultra as my EDC/wildeness emengecy blade.

Great knife straight out if the box, sharp, strong and actually it is my first Benchmade blade I ever own...love it...

But the blade was not centre properlly, I wonder will it affect performences, and how to fix it??

    Thanks...

  • Just ordered this for my birthday! Can't wait to play with it. It's funny, I have a Benchmade Mini-Grip and I carry it 9 times out of 10 over any other blade. I was going to buy a few cheaper kershaws, spydercos, and byrd knives, and instead I ended up with a Benchmade Mini-Presidio and a Benchmade Barrage, lol funny how Benchmades do that to you with their amazing quality and feel

  • Im getting the mini grip 555hg! It is just a beautiful blade and accually works

  • One year review anniversary! Great review.

  • about to pick up my first edc knife, but i'm torn between the mini griptilian or the mini presidio. anyone have any suggestions?

  • @kamen25 just picked up my first edc. got my 556. absolutely love it.

  • @kamen25 start simpler... buck 110s are cheaper and get the edc tasks done and are very reliable

  • what do you think about tanto blade like the benchmade mini-griptilian tanto the 557 plain edge

  • @JohnnyAppleTv relax

  • It slices! It dices! It makes mountains of cole slaw! :)

  • Nutn it keeps unsubscribing to you

  • posted on my birthday...boooo yeah

  • @nutnfancy Hey, I loved your review of this knife. I've had the black one for over a year now...and I just did a review of it myself. I'm wondering if I can quote you on some of the great things you had to say about the knife? As always, your video was very good.

  • I ALWAYS have a knife on me. SOG Aegis, Benchmade 527, Spyderco Manix 2

  • This was my first edc and benchmade knife. I have the large version

  • @moneyishappiness

i carry a rubber for protection

  • The problem with 440c is that there is a very large variance in the carbon content in 440c depending on who is producing the stock, the stuff benchmade uses is of excellent quality, I can only assume that it is on the higher end as far as carbon goes.

  • The only reason I can't agree on the thickness is because the Spyderco Delica is so freakin thin half the time I have it on me I swear I've lost it. haha it's kinda funny to think about it.... haha...

  • i like the mini grip better 154cm is better than 440c

  • I am in love with the blue

  • So true. The info is the meat, perfectly seasoned and seared to perfection.

  • I love benchmades, they're made so well, are so high quality, but I hate how short the relief edge on their blades are. My full size griptilian came practically dull and was hard to sharpen because of that edge. They need to back it up and it would just be so much better.

  • 10% off all benchmade products at TheBladeShop until the 12th code >BRW569

  • does spyderco make a spring-assisted knife?

  • Noryl Gtx handle uh? Often used in car parts... Hummer H3, BMW 6 and Lincoln's fenders are made with this fancy resin. A polymer well known for both chemical and heat resistance beside being a 25% lighter than glass filled resin (FRN) used by competitors such as Spyderco.

  • Is this an assisted opener? I have a benchmade vex but I don't like how it is not assisted so I end up using my flash 1 for everything. Can someone suggest an assisted benchmade? Btw great reviews nutnfancy!

  • @JMGZ8 The 585 Mini-Barrage that nutn's talking about here is an assisted opener. New ones are running around $100 on eBay.

  • Love the old school knife reviews. Thats what got me hooked on TNP in the first place.

  • There's a reason why everyone compares their new steels to 440C. The most balanced steel ever produced. No big deal, right? 440C: the first ever TRUE super steel.

  • thats a really nice blue

  • kinda like a new version of the mini-grip, but I still like it and the mini-grip is a great blade

  • theres this asian guy at ny shcool in the lunch room he shows off all of his knives, and he always talks about his benchmade, butterfly, and spider knife.now this guy scares me cuase hes always messing with it.he took it out in the middle of lunch and slides it down his arm cutting all his arm hair.until he cut him self and blood just starts flowing out.were all freaking out cuase hes bleeding he pulls out a bandage (i don't know the correct name for it) and acts like its nothing.

  • @rcvideogamer I would like to meet this asian friend of yours and tell him I would like to be his friend, he is the real deal!

  • @1013637 sorry but he left because he graduated.all i am left with now is freshmen memories.

  • hey nutn is a boker kalashnikov a good blade with aus 8 steel or whatev

  • 440C was actually the benchmark steel not too long ago. 154CM-VG10 are the best steels for the money. My friend traded his mini grip for this and hes pretty happy since he's not a steel snob. The grind on it is much more preferable than the standard drop point grip. Yes, I am aware that there is a hollow ground grip...

  • Hey Nutn, great review! I've alway'sbeen a Benchmade fan!

  • I've had a Benchmade 527 Pardue for about a year now and it is my favorite EDC. I like the drop point blade as it is a practical non agressive design that can be used for pretty much everything that comes my way in work or personal life. I agree with you that the Axis Lock is the best there is, such a strong and intuative mechanism. Sure Benchmades are not cheap, but you'll be loving this knife long after the price is forgotten. It is a practical real wold EDC blade. Great old school review!!!

  • Great review!! Although I should probably get some sound for the computer......

  • Note: yourcornerstore does not carry "Benchmade" brand. Currently, $85. on Amazon and $58.50 at a site called Opticsale. Shipping included for either. I entered the model in google shopping to come up with that.

  • @ForbinColossus absolutely do NOT buy from Opticsale. they do not have any of there items in stock and have horrible customer service. they have a f rating with the bbb.

  • @ForbinColossus dont buy from optic sale they scam and the bbb gavve them and F

  • XLNT Review - this is some fine Nutn! Don't need music ever - yer voice IS the music. More like this please - prolly helps ya get 'em done quicker, too.

  • Nice robotic voice %)

  • Agreed, the old school videos are great too, reminds the long time watchers of how it all started, good to have the variation as well. Nutnfancy - best contributor on YouTube.

  • is g10 a good steel for a blade?

  • @minipulate400016 my mistake I meant g2

  • autoknife

  • I prefer the "old school" knife review.

  • anyone know where I could get one of those scarf/mufflers that nutn uses as a table cloth?

  • @ReggyRay289 It's a Shemagh you can get them at US Cavalry. Go for the cheaper Proforce brand.

  • Thank You NF, these reviews are hugely valuable to me. I have been carrying daily for years and I have still learned a ton from watching these, keep up the great work!

  • you should review the Boker Trance, I think you'd dig it

  • lmao... in a nutn shell. *Buhda-bum-tsh*

  • the finish that benchmade uses on their blades looks incredibly cheap. Compare them to any SOG.

  • Comment removed

  • I find the part how is says...I don't know who are you...funny for some reason

  • im lovin the voices nutn!

  • Comment removed

  • it kinda sounds lik ur sayin (B***h)-made

  • The axis lock doesn't add width. The pivot bold on this blade reaches out further than the axis lock does.

  • mr nutnfancy have you ever seen or prob you owned a pelican case i own a 12 gallon lite case i have pricy folders in it if my dads room lol.

i use it when i need to trasport folders and if i need to suppily others with folder . i do that alot it gives me more opsitions i would like u to encounter a pelican safe case, n dude i love love your opion ps im not that impresed with mine i thi9nk u will do a good job giveing me the down low, ps it cost me 120$ cant remember my brother orderd it plz rev

  • the axis lock doesn't always add width, check out the BM 530 it is .366 inches thick

  • I always have a lighter, knife (mostly my new Spyderco Delica 4 FFG), and my Victorinox Swiss Tool (the RS one with the rescue blade), soon will often have my Kimber Pro Carry II with me, and when there is a higher likelyhood of needing a light I bring my Coleman Max flashlight with me. Unless i'm at my house but even then I still often have my stuff on me. Also when I get more money plan on getting a Preon 2 and carrying that all the time.

  • bitchmade?

  • How could anybody leave the house without a multitool! not long until i get stopped for having a locking blade though :(

  • @Max11Seven Check out the Leatherman Fuse (knifeless variant) then carry a seperate non-locking folder -never been a better selection of em than now!

  • @xXxCatsnakexXx Thanks for the info, but i could not even think about leaving my much trusted SwissTool. However i will still check it out, thanks.

  • @Max11Seven No problemo! I know exactly what you mean -just have your 'explanation' ready in advance, be polite and you'll be fine. In all honesty it's very, very, very unlikely you will ever be searched outside of predicatble ares like airports/courtrooms -so don't worry about it, enjoy ur SwissTool :) ...and never become one of the flock!

  • Good vid, I definitely don't mind the lack of production. The info is what I'm looking for

  • i groove on the fact that people consider what ive been doing for years-carrying knives, flashlights, multi tools ect as non average.

  • You have gone nuts 4 blades at once... Come on now really that is just nuts. I carry two when i go hunting. A skier and my multi tool. I would never carry a knife for defense for me its either a impact tool or a gun. I would rather throw a rock than defend my self with a knife. This is a great knife but there is no need to carry it if you have a Multi tool or a tatical knife.

If you want to be cool get a nice watch or a sword.

I like you but you gone nuts man.

  • FunFact: "Presidio" means jailhouse in Brazilian-Portuguese. (BR-PT)

  • I carry a 4 inch folder everyday and a small multitool. Where I live in Europe it is technically illegal to carry such a knife. I carry it very visible, I don't look like a thug and I never have any problems. Plus I am always the hero when I have a knife to cut something and no one else has one.

My EDC knife is an axis lock, I love them.

  • Cool EDC option. Thanks for posting!

  • hey nutn, i am looking for a nice edc knife around 30 dollars, and ive thought about the spyderco persistence and the kershaw skyline. i want something simple, cheap, and durable+quality. please respond.

  • @silentsniper441 I have a persistence and it's great.. I like the thumb hole to open the blade over a pin sticking out since it has less chance to snag on anything in your pocket. The only thing I don't like about persistence is the clip is sort of low and leaves a little more of the handle sticking out of your pocket than I would prefer but overall it is a great knife. My current edc is a sog mini tac auto.

  • Love that blue/black contrast on the USA Shooting Team model too. Unfortunately I doubt it will be available here in the UK

  • Great review and loving the limited Mini-Presidio in Blue!

Like to luck up on one. :D

  • he gives a better knife review then gun review. Why does he talk about other makes when you watch to see what he says about a specific model? my only complaint. He is very thorough when he reviews gives good info. Helps when you make a decision to purchase.

  • How does this compare to the Griptilian?

  • Great video. I love Benchmades, I honestly want to own a serious 90 to 95% of the Benchmade knives that you've reviewed, Nutnfancy.

Have you ever broken or heard about an Omega spring breaking in a Benchmade?

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE MY BENCHMADE

  • Such an awesome knife.

I have a Endura, Delica, Voyager 3", Sog mini Vulcan, and I think the Benchmade 527 is by far the best of them. Excellent knife! very fast, easy to sharpen, light.

  • Short, sweet, and to the point.

  • You said, "tang" 3:17 huh hahuh (ala butthead) ;)

  • Check out the Doug Ritter variants -bad ass!

  • why it go in as one of the best edc ever but then you give it an 8/10 nutn?

  • @BigSean1992 The Price. If it were cheaper it would be a 9 or a 10.

  • i dig the old school vids!

  • Ive seen some chinesse models aving some "hard rubber" put on the upper half of the handle to increase gripping. I guess a slab made of hard rubber in the upper alf of the handle may work well, maybe just enough for the fingers or so .. dont really know

  • old school nutnfancy vid: i'm a happy man

  • Nutn, you know the mini-presidio reminds me a lot of the mini-graptilian (which I've been carrying for about a year now) I love the quality level at Benchmade & am a big fan of the axis-lock. Love the blade shape of the mini-presidio & am digging the "old school" knife video. rock on brother

  • I found my lost Kershaw Ken Onion Vapor II yesterday. :D

Much better than the Buck I bought to replace it. No play, solid!

  • I love this knife. When I first got it, it seemed a little cheap/stiff. After using it for awhile though it broke in and I realized the springs are stiffer, the blade a little tighter - because this knife is made to be used and used hard.

  • I love the blueing on those knives!!!

    Especially that limited edition one

  • Veri has her finger on the pulse of TNP'ers. Love it when you kick it old school NF. Love it even more when you review a knife I already own! 527 is a sweet edc.

  • i dont know if i have trusth in a knife called prison knife...

    in portuguese presidio is prison

  • your sister is right on, very smart woman, keep it rollin nutn

    thumbs up

  • awesome.. thanks for these cool knife videos!!

  • Love the lack of intro, I usually skip it anyway.

I'd rather have the vids put up faster, but thats just me, Im impatient.

  • i love these old school vids.

  • Big Thanks to Sis, for taking vare of us "knife guys". thank you V :-)

  • The Robot Voice made me think of the movie Coneheads.

  • needs more robot voice! do a whole review with robot voice!!!

  • i like these no fuss videos better. your TNP adventures are good too, but their have their purposes elsewhere in my opinion

  • great review ever.

  • You should continue to do all your table tops in this simple format. For your other vids, like gear testing and outdoor trecks and run n' guns, extra footage and photos would be cool.

  • old school knife reviews are great.

  • Nice job! Nutn'.

  • Great vid, taking it back old school. All the info in less time;more bang for your time. I was looking at the 527 the other day. Naturally, my wife said,"Are you buying another knife?'just with a hint of sarcasm. Thanks for laying out the family(Benchmade family)

  • Nutnfancy.i like how you are turning out more knife videos like you did in the past :) keep it up.i know its tediouswork handling all these projects.

  • I find that with the ergonomics of most Benchmade knifes jimping is not needed, however it would be nice.

  • Great review. I've been thinking about a new blade. Was leaning towards a Spyderco Endura or Delica, or an assisted flipper Kershaw, but need to keep the BM option open. They're always expensive though.

  • I like these better, gotta be honest I usually just skip through the pictures that you add.

  • Great review. Love my mini-grip in discontinued purple!

  • Nice review! I love my Presidio Tanto 523-SBK, great EDC knife, I think a Mini 527 will be my next buy, thanks dude!

    Sean

  • I've got the auto version of this knife and have carried it everyday for the past year and love it!!!!!

  • I love the Mini-Presidio. Thanks for the great review. Have you ever seen the Aphid and if so, what did you think of it. I had to pick one up the other day as it was on clearance at a local store for under $20. Kinda small, but still great quality.

  • @nutnfancy. A lil off topic, but what r ur thoughts on the Bushmaster MOE M4 Carbine? It's fully outfitted with Magpul options from the factory! This will b my first long gun purchase & I'm lookn forward to it!

  • Cool more like these!!!!! this is why I like watching.... RIGHT ON NUTNFANCY

  • I'm EDCing a BM710, Fenix PD30, and a Leatherman Juice S2. Weight, to me, doesn't matter nearly as much as weight management does. I simply don't feel all those items on me when I'm wearing a pair of 5.11 TacLite Pros and a belt. If I'm just wearing a pair of jeans, I tend to carry less because my items aren't able to be managed as well. If it wasn't blatantly illegal here in Jersey (I think), I'd carry and even larger blade like a CS Recon 1 (which I'm still waiting to come out) or BM Onslaught

  • I like the old fashion style video but also like the others as well. another fantastic review! keep up the good work

  • Sweet blade Nutn, I have almost bought that one on more than one occasion.

  • Veri's got it right. Save the music for the likes of "High Skies" where it really adds to the experience. Pop out more "Old School" knife vids. That special edition blue is beautious!!

  • Gotta say nutn I dig the old school knife reviews just as much as produced ones, I've always liked your videos for your excellent information and opinions!

  • The 527 is a great knife!

  • I bet people are screaming for an update on the new Ak-47. But dude seriously, gotta review an Entrek fixed blade some time.

  • Great vid Nutnfancy! Life Sharp from Benchmade is a huge perk also. I sent 6 of my Benchmades for sharpening one came back with new scales! I only was charged shipping. Benchmade is topnotch!

  • good review man

  • Is it not possible to mill out the liners by yourself? Won't be nice circles, but it still lightens the knife =) (not really smart on DIY metals)

  • @KyoruMizuruki Yeah. Of course nutnfancy has done that before. Check out his Ontario Rat-1 Folder review, and in the video responses he has videos on milling out the liners. It was like 1/2 ounce saving I think in that case.

  • The 585 barrage is an Osborne design bud.

  • I got a fever. And the only remedy is some NFOSKRs. (NutnFancyOldSchoolKnifeReviews)

  • i love how you say "old school vid" and i know exactly what you're talking about. great project nutn. keep it up

  • is nutnfancy in the military i didnt know that, you should do a video talking more about yourself, after all we do spend a bunch of time watching your videos haha

  • That 527-s Blade reminds of those old Shaving Blades at your local old barber shop haha. ...The Locking mechanism looks very safe and .well ...common nothing really innovative but I know they work well. The Acid works look nice , nutnfancy should make a review on acid works.. maybe one of your expert friends would do great. ..At about 3:44 I can see the whole edge having lined drraws , sort of serrated draws ? ..Finally they all look like CAMPING knives? 556 for meat and 527 for everything else

  • nutn please do the blackhawk mod mark 1.

  • i have a hard on for a good blade. ALWAYS have. for me this KIND of knife is what i like that most simple and almost stream linesd. many knife makers make this model of knife. but its all love to spydaco. HARPY is my EDC!

    ace vid again nutn

  • Love the new format. Less music=quicker review.

  • LOL!! I crack up every time you make that sound effect (whip crack).

  • not gonna lie, i get totally lost when you start talking about steel type.

  • great cam quality dude lol

  • nutn i love that color selection they chose for that knife. the blue & black looks awesome

  • Downside is that Bm almost have to wide angle on their blades and they must be reprofiled pretty much direct out of the box (like the mini Grips. in the vid)...Bm watch and learn from Spyderco.

  • Hey Mr. Nutnfancy do you have experiences w/ A.G. Russell Spear Point?

    Awesome review as usual :D

  • missed old school, Simple and str8 to the point. Oh and short ;)

  • Hey Nutn, I agree with your sister-old school is better for table top reviews, now with run-n-gun a vid with "mood music" is preferred, but any vid from you is preferred!

  • Great knife and great review as always. I do like the new breed of BM knives. They are a quality product, and very reliable. Love the "old school" vibe.

BTW.....on my person: SOG Flash II (R/S hip pocket) SAK Champion (R/S belt pouch), Disposable utility razor knife (R/S cargo pocket). On my EDC bag: LEATHERMAN Surge (nylon pouch), and SOG Flash I (in strap webbing)

    Too much!!???!?!? Lol

    OCTOS...................out.

  • Great vid. So now I have to decide between this and the Lone Wolf Blackfoot.

    What do you think?

  • I love your Benchmade reviews! I would like to know your opinion of the MPR755. Awesome video man, your always influence my purchases.

  • Way 2 get 2 the nitty gritty! Don't own a benchmade, but enjoy the reviews!!!

  • TRUE MAN I LOOOOVE KNIFE REVIEWS!!! NO NEED FOR PICS, MUSIC OR ANYTHING!! JUST NUTN AND THE BLADES!!

  • @silversatchmo agree!

  • @silversatchmo 100% true

  • Your assistant is correct, we just want to know if the blade is worth our money or not.

  • with most benchmade knives, you can get a parkerized clip that the paint doesn't wear off.

  • Greetings from Canada,

Nice view as always Nutnfancy...... I think you will like the Model 14460 - HK Nitrous Blitz which is my current EDC- sure it is kinda expensive, but I have to admit that I've made a great deal on that blade :)

  • Simpler is always better!!!!! Hell ya to the old school reviews!!!!!

  • i always have 2 knives on me both just for tools.

a regular folding pocket knife and a folding razorknife just because my other ones never that sharp..

  • nice review nutn.

I like the extras though; clips of knives in use, background music (or not). I find it all adds to the review.

    Peace

  • these are the type of nutn videos i subscribed for

  • nutn, what's a good serrated blade you would recommend? haven't seen many serrated knives reviewed by you. thx.

  • Love the review mate you know you have probably heard this before but you really are my idol well done and keep it up mate
