this settles it. I've been trying to figure out what kind of keyboard to keep an eye out for bending and after seeing a lot of work on the sk series, it's definitely the sound I'm looking for right now.
yes, and the sa-2, sa-8 (secret sound banks and tons of creative glitches). i really do like vtech alpha desk, and whiz kid plus as well. nice drones. can you do the power drain on these as well?
sounds just like my concertmate 380 aleatron! but some of the rhythm glitches u made were really interesting and random, i never can get the reverbed epiano sound to go off like that
Hey really nice job. Looks and sounds really bent. I'm currently bending a SA-39 and have found some nice random glitch points but no body contacts.....yet. Only problem I have so far is frequent crashing.
Stumbled onto this clip by accident...I remember doing that to old radios when I was a little kid, over twenty years ago. Didn't know anything about electronics, but I loved to pull them apart and tape bits of tinfoil onto the PCBs and check out the weird and cool noises. Now I know that there is a name for it, cool.
That's pretty cool. I had something similar to this a few years ago (it was an earlier model though, maybe SA-1? but I recognize 1:51).
If you just took the battery cover off and wiggled the batteries about while pressing POWER a lot then you got into some similar-sounding stuff to this. XD
That thing sounds pretty interesting. I have a SA-1. Do you think i can bend it like the SA-5? Did you wired the bodycontacts only to the IC inside? Good work!
Given enough time, synths, and effects you could create most of these sounds but it just somehow feels good to do it yourself from a piece of junk that you got for 1.99 at Value Village. That and the spontaneous loops and phrases can be very inspiring and useable.
There's a huge online circuit bending community but you can't post links in these comments. Google Reed Ghazala to start(or squelchbox). Have fun.
That sounds like the music found on a wario game for game boy advanced.

Thanks, the splatter is a marbling effect spray paint and the keys and controls are testors model paints brushed on. It took a while.

Interesting, I don't really get circuit bending, most of the noises you could get from other synths so why is it so many people like to do it ?
It must take time, don't get me wrong, I love to see what people have done.
Can you suggest any good web sites or tutorials about it? I'd like to have a go and see why people do this.
