Great song, my friend from Italy turned me onto it a few years ago. A few months ago a different friend who immigrated here to the USA from Mexico was over drinking beers and he seemed bummed out but wouldn't say why. On a hunch I took a guess and played him this song. Usually he only likes that oompa-boompa circus music, but a little tear came out of his eye, and he wanted to know who the singer is, it was pretty funny. Pure chance or skill, sometimes longshots are bullseyes.

This is as terrific a song as Spanish Eyes was, in the 60s. Only, the radio business is different now and it would cost mucho for Al Martino to get a top 10 hit with this nowadays....so the song is kind of not well-known. But it is great....and it is inspirational too because Al Martino is quite older now and still doing it!

This is a song of the Austrian singer "Udo Jürgens" with the original title "Griechischer Wein". It was a big hit in Germany in the year 1975 and you will find the song on youtube too.

In 2001 Al Martino had a performance in a German/Austrian show called "Musikantenstadl". And after "Spanish Eyes" he sang "Come Share the wine" for the first time.

Just want to add that I also love this song which I had not heard before! As somebody whose maternal grandmother came here from Russia to escape Anti-Semitism and whose late father came from Poland to escape the Holocaust, I can really appreciate the song's sentiments!
