Hey I play hard rock and some heavy metal as well as good 'ol 80's music like van halen and ACDC. Which guitars better for me- The Gibson Faded SG or the Epiphone Les Paul (standard or plus top) Thanks!

In my opinion Epiphone at one time was a great guitar builder, right up there with Gibson. But that was quite a few years ago.I personally don't care much for most of the newer epiphones being made today. So for me,between those 2 guitars,I'd definately go with the Gibson. But ,you could always go to a music store and play both of those 2 guitars with the exact same amp settings, and see which you prefer.
Hey... i was gonna get the same guitar (Epi Les Paul Plus Top) but I went to the store, and im now getting a Gibson Faded SG 3 pickups. Its not really a hard choice... what would you rather have on your headstock. Epiphone, or Gibson.
Dollars yes.Not sure what a euros is.I don't know anything of the cost of an epi les paul,as I do not have any interest in epiphone, nor would I recommend an epiphone to anyone.
ignore him. epiphones are great guitars. they are 9/10ths of what a gibson is and 1/3rd the cost. its your choice of weather you like the les paul or sg better.
i heard it goes out of tune really quickly, is that true, i think im going to get one.

The Gibson SG Faded Special is $1,058 list price, but only like $580 if you get it at a discount place like Guitar Center.
