I dont have a problem with blue-collar, white Southerners disliking Hippy culture. However, when you vote against something, its important to know what by default you are voting for. People's image of the 1960's today is totally distorted. The only places in America where the 60's were all about drugs, war protest, etc. were places like L.A, San Fran, NYC, etc. For the vast majority of America in the '60's, this song was true.
