  • Lastly, I'm aware of the 4/4 timing in the music and technically should be counted as such. Yes, I simplified as an easier way of teaching that works well for me. My goal is to get more people enjoying the dance while keeping the integrity of the Cuban Danzon Timing with the music. If your goal here was to inform more people about ballroom then just do it, but please come to LA to witness the club style here before you make claims there is "no such a thing" Thanks!

  • @MsChachacha, you made it very clear in the videos that this is the LA style. I am super happy you posted these because everyone else on youtube is trying to show ballroom style and thats not what they do at the clubs. PERIOD. thanx so much.

  • After the Cha Cha Cha came to the U.S., the traditional music and dance changed as it was popularize; many Americans danced the Cha Cha Cha breaking on the 1 or even 3 beat instead of the 2 since that was easier for them to hear the downbeat in the music. The style I'm teaching here is a Street Style Cha Cha Cha as it has developed in the Salsa clubs here in LA over the last 10 years, but with the original break on the 2 as it is meant to be -musically speaking.

  • 4th, Cha Cha Cha, originally started from Danzon in Cuba. A man by the name of Monsiur Pierre after visiting Cuba in 1952 brought it back to England to create what is known now as ballroom, which later branched off into American Rhythm Style & International Latin Style; neither of which I am teaching here.

  • Hey Julin305,

1st, I did these video's for Expert Village, not youTube. I did not even know that they were all downloaded here until recently.

2nd, you can do some research here too. Expert Village is for the average person, not pro's and Ballroom peop.s. I'm sure you did not come here to learn Cha Cha Cha - seems only to criticize.

3rd, each clip was supposed to be around 1 minute long- so there is no time to add all the disclaimers to cover critique's like you.

  • Study what you're doing before you put it on YouTube. Research is in order before you take on the responsobility of teaching. From what I've seen, all your demonstrating is a simplified, more social way of doing modern Cha Cha Cha. Modern in reference to the Ballroom form of it, particularly the American Style. The figures you're teaching is not LA style or a characteristic of "On 2". There's no such thing. It's just "Cha Cha Cha"!
