They are a Vibram ripoff but I'm pretty sure FILA copied them before Adidas. I bought the new balance minimus because I didn't want my 5 toe slots like the vibrams but the NB minimus have a Vibram sole. If I wanted some that had seperat toes I would go with Vibram for sure.
Wow I hate the people who say vibrams suck. They are the best shoe company In the world. They originally mAde shoes for soldiers in ww1 and have the best soles out of any shoe company. They even design the soles for other shoe companies. Vibrams currently make the boots for the us army and they last forever. Vibrams are the most dependable shoe brand out there. The Adidas are cool and it's nice that they tried but they can't hold a candle to vibram fivefingers
barefoot shoe, needs about 3 years to "break in" it microscopically snaps bones in your feet till either you stop running in them or you get used to it.
Kinda ironic huh? "BAREFOOT training SHOE" I was born and raised in Hawaii. For the first 12 years of my life, I lived barefoot almost - 24/7. I went to school barefooted. My feet were so calloused that I could walk on a coral reef or broken glass barefoot. Using these types of products IS NOT going barefooted. If you wanna go barefoot, then GO BAREFOOT Addidas is just using slick marketing to take your money. Any many fools out there will actually buy into this B.S.
I use to get off shin splints, ever since I switched to "barefoot" shoes I been shin splint free. (I haven't tried Adidas version yet) but I do use a 5 toe shoe I live them. Best I've ever felt running. Calfs are very sore at first though . Start of slow toes only do not heal strike you will injure your self.
I'm concerned that these would not be good for me, because I have flat feet that contribute to my seemingly frequent run ins with shin splints. My physical therapist has told me to stay away from shoes that promote free motion like the Nike Free, and to stick to more solid shoes with more stability like the Nike Lunar Glides. Do you think these shoes would be bad for me to wear?
i wish people would stop crying about how adidas is copying vibram. yeah vibram came out with the style first, doesn't mean its the best. im glade there's variety on the market now
So now not only are there a bunch of Chinese knock-offs of Vibram Fivefingers, but an Adidas one as well. Good job being unoriginal guys. Adi Dassler is spinning in his grave.
- It's nice that ADIDAS is trying, but Vribams Fivefingers were already around.
- These ADIDAS shoes are nothing special when it comes to strengthening muscles in the lower legs and feet. Simple minimalist shoes and running barefoot already do that.
- Strengthening the lower leg and feet muscles is good for stability, but putting on heavy, thick-soled basketball shoes would just take all that stability away.
Yeah guys there's no difference in these shoes. . . Well yeah there is, Adidas has a lot more money to advertise, than VFF. But just remember which company will have more loyal customers. VIBRAM FIVEFINGERS FTW!!!
you guys are dumb. shoe companies have been thinking about this type of shoe for years. vibram just happens to have released one first....it's not their personal brainchild, and adidas has more financial backing in r&d and will probably make a much better shoe than vibram is capable of making. i wouldn't call these knockoffs at all.
@Lillbrandt Sure, it's just that Vibram Fivefingers have never been very well known and now a big shoe company comes out with these which will lead a lot of people to believe that the design was their idea. I'd hate to see them get credit for an awesome idea that another company thought up years ago.
I have to say these shoes fall short in the "toe shoe market." In comparison to Vibrams they lack many stable features, yet cost the same $80. If you're gonna spend the big bucks on toe shoes might as well buy the real ones not the imitations. Adipure Trainers & Skeltoes F*** That Noise

A couple things about this video:
- It's nice that ADIDAS is trying, but Vribams Fivefingers were already around.
- These ADIDAS shoes are nothing special when it comes to strengthening muscles in the lower legs and feet. Simple minimalist shoes and running barefoot already do that.
- Strengthening the lower leg and feet muscles is good for stability, but putting on heavy, thick-soled basketball shoes would just take all that stability away.

And of course, some big shoe brand had to go and make some knock off Vibrams.
No way will these shoes top Vibrams.

@qhs3711 But I think there are vibrams that are trainers as well. Adidas will most likely attempt to make one in the future.
