No, they go into huge-mistake-mode. On a track like this the only modes are taking-it-easy-mode and huge-mistake-mode and everything inbetween. The fastest is just-not-huge-mistake mode but there's always a couple inexperienced drivers that go al the way. Plus the track is only open once each year and it's realy long so you can't realy get used to it like you could on a somewhat shorter permanent tack which also has the benefit of run off.

Macau F1 will not happen any time soon. At one point, the FIA considered Macau as a potential F1 track but the Macau motorsport body didn't want to change the width and the length of the track to accommodate F1. That's too bad.
