Hmm, I beg to disagree: Without materia, Ruby Weapon is easy. One can even beat Ruby Weapon without materia with a party of characters of initial levels (of course without resorting to instant death moves or 7777).

i like cloud defense every time i use w item . his defense is absolutely it was like 0 hit on cloud.

no, you just need to party members dead in the begining. he will just kill two of them instinly.

every time I try and hurt him my attacks magic summons and everything do ablolutly no damage how do you hurt ruby

you can't hurt him until he thrusts his hands into the grounf. For him to do that, you must go into the battle with 2 of your 3 party members dead.  Once his hands are in the ground, you can start hurting him.

I beat Emerald WEAPON in like 5 or 6 minutes, but I keep having trouble beating Ruby WEAPON!

And thank goodness for that!! 0_0 Fighting them is like challenging a literal Nightmare against whatever you have to face against it making it almost impossible, believe me I know, I tried myself and they are a TRUE CHALLENGE to ANY WARRIOR!! XD ha ha ha!

Although its a really simple strategy, I like the way you do it. It's more like a walkthrough on how to beat him with no materia. That's a really easy way to beat him.

No it isn't. FFVII weapons are the hardest bosses on FFVII-IX if you don't count Ozma. I say Ozma is still easier than Emerald and Ruby.

yeah, ozma's attacks hurt but his health is ridiculously low for an FF hardest boss.

In my opinion ozma is actually harder than emerald and ruby despite the fact he only has like 50,000hp he is harder to survive against, but all to thier own. =)

maybe but you did need to do aaaaalooooooot of preparation to figh against him and it was easier cuz you have and item that allows you to do limit breaks plus the invisible skill of Riona (something like that)

Emerald is very, very easy without Materia. I have a video of it up.

If no Materia, then he actually has only one attack that can kill all of your characters, Foot Stamp. Yellow circles deplete MP, while blue ones deplete your HP. Aire Tam Storm formula you know, and Emerald Beam does 82,5% of your current HP, so it can't kill you. Hope this says, Emerald is much easier on NM game, than Ruby.

I'm pretty sure it's just called "Fighting" or "battle theme" by nobuo uematsu, but I could be wrong...with the name. Becuase I know there's other one's like "Still more fighting" I have it on my external harddrive but its not hooked up.

shadow flare comet2 and ultima usually miss with mystile

+30 Strength makes the battle go quicker. With the Mystile, you need to react to the result of attacks rather than the attacks themselves. I've done it with the Mystile, but I really feel the Gigas makes the battle easier.

Attacking the tentacles doesn't affect Ruby's HP. Otherwise it'd be best to continuously attack them, as their defense is much lower. The only reason I attack them at the start is that it gives me a free turn.

where did you get your dazers and hero drinks from? i thought they're from chocobo racing only.

Dazers are a 1/8 drop from Bad Raps in the Sunken Gelnika (This is my favorite levelling spot) and Hero Drinks most commonly appear in Class B Chocobo races, which you can bet on.
